    Great

I liked it. I think it could have been better but who really cares. I also like it because I think it was a mystery.

Jump over the immature and gushy parts.

After careful consideration I must conclude that the female lead in this story is a psycho laced up in a straight jacket in a forgotten wing of some questionable institution and she is making up this whole story in her head. She would have to be crazy to stroll through her experiences in this story while barely questioning anything that should have thrown up red flags. Instead, she patiently waits for explanations from the male lead because she doesn't want to press him. What a great way to get raped and murdered by a murdering rapist in real life. Thankfully this book is fiction, and other than some suspect maturity inconsistencies, the female leads is spunky and interesting. I love the creative new take on vampires. To give them everything they lack and still make a solid representation deserves wicked credits. There were inconsistencies numbering in the dozens throughout the novel but in spite of those I was still drawn through the story and I ended up liking the tale. This book definitely does a good job of guarding its secrets until they are ready to be revealed, as I constantly found myself wondering WTF with faith that at some point my questions would be answered. Some were, others not so much, but my need to know the missing answers was fleeting and I won't be bothered by them unless I read the story again. There was one very consistent theme throughout the book, and that was the ex. The topic of the ex-boyfriend was a dead horse after the first mention, but that didn't stop it from getting beaten again and again. I'm surprised glue wasn't made. And six months to get over a boyfriend who wasn't a good match anyway? Ridiculous. Six weeks would have been a generous stretch. I feel like there were some close parallels to Twilight sometimes too close, I would have let that go if there weren't so many references to Twilight along with almost every other mainstream vampire story in existence. A constant barrage of movie references doesn't work as well in print as it does on screen methinks. Overall the story was a good tale and frankly I liked it more than I should have.
