    Another fun Braden!

A sweet and sexy, opposites attract story! Steve Johnson is enjoying his life's dream of living in the Colorado Mountains as a Ranger and wildlife consultant. He likes his quiet life, but it starts to liven up when Shannon Braden moves into a cabin down the road. Shannon is a happy-go-lucky, chatty gal who is friends with everyone and is in Colorado for a few weeks doing some wildlife research. She plans to return to her home in Maryland as soon as she gets all of the info compiled that she needs, but she doesn't count on running into a man to tempt her into not wanting to leave. The pull between the two of them is something neither of them is used to, so they can't turn their back on it even though they know they can only be temporary since she's leaving soon. Will they find a way to have a forever?

    Intensely passionate story

Another intensely passionate story in the Peaceful Harbor series. Just when I think Melissa Foster cannot create more intense, more compassionate heroes, she releases another book. Steve is a wonderful character - deeply passionate about the environment -- and Shannon. I was a little perplexed at the beginning regarding why Steve was so attached to his mountain and inflexible about leaving but over time, his love of the land and his role in became as much a part of the book as the other characters. Shannon is an exuberant character. I love how there were times when she could move from topic to topic, bouncing from one idea to another, and her bubbly personality came through the words on the page. I love how confident she is in her feelings for Steve, and the risk she takes to see if he feels the same. At the same time, I wanted to smack her upside the head a couple of times, wanting her to open her eyes and see what was right in front of her. Because while she took a chance to see what could develop between Steve, she was unwilling to take a chance on the permanence of that love. Her fear of losing connection to her family was valid but her lack of insight into ways to have both was frustrating. But, have no fear. As in true romance, Shannon and Steve find their happily-ever-after. And the reader finds another great read from Melissa Foster in the Braden's series. Disclosure: I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

A sweetly tuned second chance story.

To date Ms. Foster has tackled heavy issues within her Bradens series. Whether trust issues have arisen, guilt and grief associated with loss, escaping a painful past or trying to outrun hurtful accusations, these Bradens prove they are made of strong stock. Naturally, I had to read Crushing on Love. Steve and Shannon's was not as dramatic and angst ridden as some of the other romances. All in all, there were obstacles but the journey to love was sedate for this author. Wherever there's history, complication is not far behind, but the appeal of Shannon and Steve is that the subtlety added to, not detracted from. A sweetly tuned second chance story.

    Crushing on Love

A wonderful love story Shannon Braden and Steve Johnson. Shannon had spent weeks doing research on red foxes in the Colorado mountains. Doing another research project, she needed Steve to help her map out their habitats. He was living a peaceful solitary life on the mountain, his life was no match for Shannon. She was only there until her project ended. Helping each other, Shannon introduced the crowdfunding campaign, whose purpose was to protect Cumberland land from development, toward preserving Weston's heritage. He had no desire to let her go. He wanted more than his life on the mountain, he wanted family and a sense of belonging, and ready to give up the mountain for her. She changed her life to accommodate him, and she created her own career in Weston, Colorado.
