    Damien's POV

This story basically picks up from where "Lost With Me" left off, but now everything is coming from Damien's POV. Even though Anne is now home safe and sound, Damien feels as if he has failed his family because with all he has, he wasn't able to protect them. I realize Damien is broken, but it would have been nice to have been in his mindset hanging out with friends and seeing a lighter side of him. Damien came off as very whiny, to me, in this book, and while I don't expect him to be perfect, it was a tad too much,. Damien is a well written story, and it will have you guessing who the monster is because you think you know, but then you don't, but then maybe you do. It plays with your head a little and keeps you enthralled. Questions (big and small) left over from the previous story are answered. However, the series has evolved and become more about the Stark family dynamic and all the tragedy that has come their way, than about the kink when the series first started. The series has taken on more of a thriller like component to it. There has always been a theme of picking up each other's broken pieces and being each others rock, but Nikki and Damien have become borderline vanilla since we first met them. I kind of miss that aspect of their story. We got a little more kink in this story than the previous book, but still doesn't compare to earlier stories. Nikki has been the POV for so long that we know the stories of all the cracks in her shell, what makes her tick, and act the way she does, but Damien is still kind of new territory. It was nice to see Nikki play more of the strong role in this story. I do hope we get Damien's POV more, and that we get it during happier times.

    I'm loving Damien's POV!

I don't think I'll ever tire of the Stark world, the passion, the betrayal, the lies, the charm, give it all to me! Damien is no exception. Told from his point of view, we get a glimpse into his power, his thoughts, his world. He may seem like he exudes confidence, but after the prior activities with his daughter, he's doubting everything, while still trying to maintain control. His love for Nikki and his daughters shines through, but will outside forces make him lose that which he loves most? I gobbled this book up, and I am crossing my fingers for even more in this world!

    Damien

We always knew there was so much going on in Damien's mind and now we have gotten just a taste of what he has swirling in there. So much has happened recently and it has left him spinning. How can he run the world but not be able to protect his family? How did he let a kidnapper get so close as to get to his baby girl and he was not able to do anything about it? These are just some of the things he questions and he has no answers and he is struggling and the only thing keeping him sane is Nikki. Of course, it is Nikki, it is always Nikki. This story is filled with sex and suspense and I couldn't believe this page turner was over so soon! Definitely love the look inside Damien's mind... **Received this ARC for review**

    Loved it

5 Star Review Damien (Stark Trilogy #6) by J Kenner Wow, where do I start? Who knew that underneath the arrogant, alpha Damien Stark lay a man who was vulnerable and suffered with insecurity? I for one, did not. This book is told from Damien’s point of view, occurring after he and Nikki are reunited with their daughter and was certainly an eye opener. Nikki and Damien Stark, you either love them or you don’t. I love them and was pleased to be back amongst this dynamic couple and their family and friends. Traumatised and vulnerable, Damien is determined to discover who was behind the attack on his family. The love and bond between Damien and Nikki is strong but circumstances have tested it, time and again. This was a roller coaster of a read at times as Damien struggled to come to terms with the fact that he is human and as such can fail.   As Damien slowly but surely puts the clues to solve the puzzle together, danger looms. The burden of worry and fear is consuming as Damien fights to protect those he loves. It was so interesting to get a glimpse into Damien’s mind and this book was certainly a departure from the previous books in the series as it was all from Damien’s view point. J Kenner captured my attention from the first to the last chapter. The writing was strong and the story engaging.
