    Action Packed Sexy Story!

This is an excellent entry into a new romantic military action series by author Emmy Curtis, telling us the story of Grace and Josh. Grace is a journalist who chooses to embed herself with the military on year long missions. While on a two week break back in the US, she meets Josh, an air force master sergeant. They are both looking to forget - and a night of passion in each other's arms fits the bill. Three years later they meet again only this time Grace is on the receiving end of a rescue by Josh - buried feelings quickly come to the surface, but can they take their one night and turn it into something more than fantasy? I was really impressed with the research and detail of this novella. The author has obviously gone to great lengths to create accurate and believable scenes. The descriptions of situations in Afghanistan both from Grace's journalistic point of view as well as the soldier and airmen's experiences are riveting to read. I really liked Grace's character - she's a feisty and brave woman, willing to go out on a limb and put herself in difficult situations in order to tell the stories she feels need to be told. Josh is equally engaging as the ultimate hero, strong, handsome, capable, and determined. Though he isn't pleased to find out that Grace is a journalist, he can't help but admire her - and still desires intimacy with her despite knowing it's a bad idea. The sexual tension between Grace and Josh is evident from their first meeting and the love scenes between them are steamy and well written. That chemistry continues to play a part in the development of their relationship down the road and the emotional attachment they develop for each other is tender and heartwarming. The secondary characters introduced into the story play a key role in the plot - they add tension, humor, and an understanding of the dynamics between those who lay their lives on the line every day in foreign countries. The overall tone of the book is an action packed, romantic, sexy story with real characters, witty dialogue, heart stopping scenes and touching moments. I am very much looking forward to more in the series! 5 stars!

    A “can’t put it down” action-filled novella

This is the first book that I have read of the author, Emmy Curtis but it most definitely will not be my last. I really enjoyed this military romantic suspense novella. It was a “can’t put it down” action-filled novella. I really liked that the author, Emmy Curtis seems to know about the military. She included military details, terminology and acronyms. It also included battle scenes. I felt that it was well-researched and authentic. I really enjoy military romance but I want it to be about the military not just a soldier, sailor or another military man who was in the military but we never see any action except in the bedroom. After the loss of a close friend, journalist Grace Grainger is home on leave. She is staying at the Four Seasons in DC and is enjoying a few drinks at the bar when she meets a man, Josh. They enjoy a one-night stand but neither gives out any intel – no names, no occupations, no nothing – just pure sex was enjoyed. Three years later, Grace Grainger is still embedded with military units in Afghanistan, writing about life in Afghanistan when her patrol is ambushed. She seeks shelter in a nearby cave with no way out. A PJ (pararescueman) is sent to rescue her. That PJ was the same man from three years ago, Master Sergeant Josh Travers and...
