    Sweet

Daniel’s Christmas is the first in the Night Stalkers White House spin-offs, where we get the opportunity to catch up with some of the non-military characters first introduced in The Night is Mine and watch them find their own happy endings. Daniel’s story is rather sweet, centred around an advent calendar which is used to mark the time of his whirlwind romance with Alice (the rather brilliant but not socially confident CIA analyst). I like how they hit it off straight away, without any games or denial of their mutual attraction. As it’s a fairly short book, the story moves along at a good pace, making sure the reader knows a lot of background work goes on when the two aren’t interacting, without getting bogged down in detail. The story focuses back on Daniel and Alice in the build-up to the event that was the trigger for the two to meet. Having just re-read this book in order to write a review, this central premise possibly suffers a little by comparison to news reports & events in recent months. Whether than makes events more or less likely, I don’t know, but the story’s enjoyable so I’d advise you to read the book and decide for yourself! *I was asked by the publisher for an honest review, but purchased this book as part of The Night Stalkers Holiday Bundle, with my own money, and all views are my own.

    Utterly Engaging

Political intrigue combined with military details (and skillful flying of helicopters), all wrapped in whimsy (introduced by the heroine Alice and a delightful Advent calendar), this is Buchman delivering what he does best: entertaining discerning readers. I loved how Alice knocked Daniel off balance and kept him there for most of the book. And I loved how Daniel, in turn, helped Alice find her center of balance. I purchased this story as a three-book set: The Night Stalkers Holiday Bundle"". The other books in the set are "Frank's Independence Day" (the back story of President Peter Matthew's bodyguard) and "Peter's Christmas" (where President Matthews finds his own HEA). This entire set is well worth reading.

    Daniel's Christmas

This book has a lot of twists and turns so good. It is also really funny, Alice has a fantastic personality and brings out a different side of Daniel. I loved all the characters and how they were working together but were more like family. They had a great humor among them.

    Appropriate title

I received a free copy of this title from the publisher in exchange for an honest review. You know almost from the start of the book that Daniel and Alice will end up together, but it is the path that leads to that ending that is so much fun. Daniel and Alice bring out the best in each other and mesh so well with the other characters in the book. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this book to anyone.

Read Two books but won't finish the series

I really enjoy the rest of his series. This one jumped too much between past and present and was too political.
