  • dante valentine - complete series

complex characters, Machiavellian plots, internally logical worlds - a fantastic and challenging read. I wish I could read it all over again without knowing what comes next. some of the best I've ever read.

  • Meh, it was a series for cheap.

I liked the author's other work more. This character had more bravado than sense and she's constantly being rescued.

  • Dante Valentine

A great story full of action, romance and fantasy all rolled into one. This was a fun read.

  • Long Arc to Follow

Having the books in a single volume helps in following the series arc. The heroine is constantly in over her depth in dealing with the devil and demons despite her own powers of necromancy. The series is really about her survival.

  • Action filled but disappointing heroine

I expected a strong female lead... And was disappointed by book 2 onwards. Dante becomes dependant on her "man", for strength and approval. She's always pining after him and really doesn't accomplish anything on her own. In fact, her strength is played as "stubbornness" and seen as a flaw. The action was good and I enjoyed the future setting. I do think renaming everything was excessive (plasglass, maglock, etc). I also felt a fair amount of repetition throughout all 5 books in language and phrases. I read the full series, perhaps I wouldn't have noticed if I spread it out.

    Thanks for your feedback!
