    Hooked from the start!

Dare to Tempt is the second book in Carly Phillips Dare Nation series and it's another one that drew me in right from the start! Damon Prescott is the starting quarterback for the Miami Thunder and he's recently tested positive for PEDs, but he knows without a doubt he hasn't knowingly taken anything illegal or had anything that would have contained anything illegal to his knowledge. His brother Austin, who is his agent and his sister Bri, who is in PR, are helping him to try to prove his innocence. In order to do so, Bri has a plan up her sleeve. Bri's best friend, Evie Wolfe, just happens to be a private investigator, so she brings her in to help. When Evie shows up at Damon's house, the group decides that the easiest way for Evie to get the information she needs is to pose as Damon's girlfriend. Now, he's not known for being a one woman man, but he definitely is attracted to the spitfire of a PI. As Evie dives into trying to prove Damon's innocence, their "relationship" hits the news, which brings an ex of hers back into the picture and he begins threatening her. In order to both keep her safe and to further the real relationship that is starting to grow, Damon insists she move in with him so he can keep an eye on her. Now that Damon has realized she's what he wants, will Evie drop her walls and allow it to happen? I truly enjoyed these two characters and what they brought out in one another. They are both strong people and have been through their share of difficulties in their pasts. It was so wonderful to see how well they fit together and into each other's families. I've always loved the Dare's and I'm so glad we're getting to know more of the extended family and I look forward to meeting others!

    I want more!

Damon is recovering from a pretty severe game injury but the headaches and dizziness aren't his real problem - The positive drug screening is - Facing being benched for practically the first half of the season and no answers as to who might have done this to him he has no choice but to relent to Quinn's "great idea". Desperate times and all that - Things couldn't get any worse - Right? Worse = Meet Evie Wolfe A P.I. that has a nose for the truth And a body that is pure temptation These two were oil and water from the get. I was a bit peeved at Damon in the beginning but he turned out to be so much more. Evie, at first glance, did not meet Damon's idea of arm candy but she had an ace up her sleeve that was guaranteed to leave Damon a drooling puddle of need. I wish this was longer! I have never read this author's work - but after Dare to Tempt? That is about to change! I want more - More of this cast More of the banter, the family The smoking hot sexual tension The light suspense that kept me engaged without drowning out Evie and Dawson's story I can not wait to meet the rest of the family - Read their stories Definitely recommend this one

    Love Damon & Evie!!

I absolutely loved Damon and Evie’s journey from fake relationship to their wonderful and satisfying HEA! What started out as a ruse between two seemingly incompatible people became something quite real between them and I loved watching that transformation as it happened very organically. I love both of these characters and so many of the other supporting ones too! Damon has always been a player on and off the field but now he was neither as an injury has temporarily taken him out. And now to top it all off testing positive for PEDs threatens the future of his career. He is innocent of course but is in need of help to prove it which is where Evie, who is a PI, comes in to help. Evie is so awesome! She has been through a lot but she is still so smart and strong. She fights for the truth with everything she has to get Damon back on the field. When her own past catches up with her, Damon goes into protective mode and let me say it ups his sexy factor to the highest level. I love this story, this series, and all of these characters and cannot wait for what lies ahead for the ever growing Date Nation!!!

4.25⭐ A quick, fun and readable story

Dare to Tempt was a quick, fun, and readable story. That easily had me turning the pages. Thanks to the characters who were both a mix of old and new and a storyline that was fast-paced, a tad suspenseful, sweet, and sexy. And I was genuinely entertained throughout. Would happily recommend. **I was kindly with an ARC via Booksprout in exchange for an honest review**

    ***4 Stars***

***4 Stars*** This was a fun, quick read that had a great mix of sweet and heat that had a nice bit of suspense tossed into the mix to keep things interesting as well as a good dose of the Dare’s showing just how much family means to all of them. It was hard to not love Damon and Evie. Damon may be all about the one and done and not wanting to be in a committed relationship, but his dedication to his career and his loyalty to his family and friends shows just how big his heart is. Evie is a tough cookie, she’s had to be considering the family she grew up in, but she also has a quick wit and is much more observant than most realize. The journey to their HEA was an enjoyable one as they both were thrown together and had no choice but to get to know each other and realize that neither was who they expected them to be. The bantering was a lot of fun and the chemistry between them was hot. I really liked that the angst between them was on the low end of the spectrum, especially with all that they were dealing with, but they did have a few bumps in their road and I loved how everything worked out for them. This was another great addition to the Dare World, which is quite vast. There are a couple topics that may make readers uncomfortable, but it was all handled very well. I loved catching up with Austin and Quinn and meeting/catching up with a hand full of the Dare clan, and I really enjoyed getting to know the Prescott family a little better. I don’t have an ultimate fav of the bunch, but I’m definitely looking forward to watching as Jaxon is brought to his knees! ~ Copy provided by the author & voluntarily reviewed ~
