  • Dark Fairy Tales (A Midnight Dynasty Anthology)

Best anthology of 2020! All stories can be read as standalones and are within the same world, with each character entwined within the events that occur. Each story conveys an undertone of the dark and dangerous world they live in, where the rich are ruthless and all powerful. I only wish they were full length novels instead of novellas. I hope this anthology continues as I'd love to read more about these characters and this world these talented authors have built. These short stories construct the intriguing world of the Midnight Dynasty universe and will help pave the way for other authors to build these characters to come to life and explore this new and fascinating world. Although dark and twisted these fairy tales all end with happy ever afters. Each character has their own agenda and reason for being at the masquerade ball celebrating the 16th birthday of Tinsley Constantine. It’s an introduction to the elite and society’s finest, and what lurks behind closed doors. Great character and world development, heat, angst and enough intrigue to make me want more and more. So much mystery and intrigue. Each story will leave you feeling a little hot and bothered until the next one. There’s something for everyone; from second chances to arranged marriage, age gaps to mafia romances. All with a dash of darkness. What more can you ask for. I've always preferred the darker versions of fairy tales and this anthology did it justice. It paid homage to the classics. Warning: Suitable for mature audience and not for the faint hearted. Stories contain matters of abuse, rape, kidnap, murder, death and brutality.

  • Who doesn’t love a good fairy tale?

✨ ARC REVIEW ✨ I’m here to review Cora Reilly’s short dark fairy tale — King Thrushbeard! Hot hot hot! It’s always fun when you find a fairy tale for adults and this one checks all the boxes! It’s such a read, a page turner that leaves you wanting more and more! It is a short story linked in with the other authors and their own dark fairy tale shorts, I only had the pleasure of arc reading for Cora, as I said it’s a short story so it’s very to the point it both leaves you satisfied and makes you want more - like a favourite dessert! You’re full but it’s so good you have to have more! The characters are great and for a first time meeting them, you vibe really well and just want to know every single little detail about them! Jean and peyton — they definitely know how to play a dirty, steamy hot game and who doesn’t love a little chase when someone is playing hard to get. It was a great short! Thank you Cora for the chance to read and review! I give it 4/5

  • A beauty of a tale.

Beauty and the Beast by Willow Winters A dark retelling of the original Beauty and the Beast story by Gabrielle-Suzanne Barbot de Villeneuve. When Calum Harrison attends the ball, he goes seeking Annabella. Belle the daughter of Maurizio to whom he loaned a large amount of money knowing the man would never be able to repay his debt and this would set Calum up to claim Belle. He spots her and pursues her when she fleas in fear, finding her in the garden where he tells her how easily he could kill her father for being unable to repay him unless she agrees to leave with him. Belle just lost her mother and can’t risk losing her last parent, so she agrees to go with Calum to his home where they explore each other with intense passion. In truth Belle is as intrigued with Calum as he is with her and is eager to explore their shared passion with him. Will this fairy tale have it’s own HEA I couldn’t read this gifted story fast enough to find out! It’s a fun steamy retelling with so much passion.
