    Good read

This is the conclusion to the the Revenge Saga that began in book 1 Sweet the Sin. I was hoping I would warm up to these characters in the second half of their story but I just didn't. Still, this is a very emotional story and I had to know how it ended. When all the secrets are revealed will the feelings they have for each other be enough to keep Caleb and Kelley together? Will they ever be able to trust each other? If you enjoy your romance a little dark, a whole lot sexy, and full of revenge, this is a good one. Although the author did a great job of recapping the story, I do recommend that you read both books in order.

    Dark Romance

I really enjoyed this! I'm surprised I actually feel that way because what Kelly is doing is truly depressing! Her character, as in how she is as a person, is seriously lacking, and I had a hard time wanting her to be happy, but even with her doing this really awful thing, I still sort of liked her. I guess I get she's just lost, and doesn't have any self worth. And knowing what she was up to really put a pall over the intimate scenes with Caleb. There was an immense amount of sex scenes, and although they were hot and spicy, I do feel there were too many, and since there were so many, with the pall and all, I couldn't enjoy them fully, but as I said they were hot and spicy, so it wasn't all bad. There were a lot of sweet moments in this book between Caleb and Kelly, and I felt that their connection was genuine; two seriously closed off people, who are in major need of a deep connection. Caleb was great, and I like that sort of closed off alpha male character, so that was intriguing for me. I liked the alternating pov's, and I liked that this seemed like a conclusion for the story; I hate when stories drag on for no purpose, so I think this one wrapped up nicely. I didn't like some of Kelly's actions with Jack; I felt that was really unnecessary, and really didn't help endear Kelly to me. You definitely need to read the first book before you read this one, or you will be lost on a lot of the story development. In the end, I'm glad I read this series; the 2 books that is, and I enjoyed the growth the characters went through.

    True test of a relationship

I am a big fan of Claire Kent, she writes a romance that is real and hard and flawed like we all are. It makes her characters so relatable. This book had me on the edge of my seat all the way through. I wanted so badly for Caleb and Kelly to end up together. Their romance was raw and hard but truly worth it in the end. There were times that I didn't think their love would be enough and there were times that I felt that they hated each other but isn't that the way of love it's a fine line between love and hate. You just have to lean a little to find bliss.

    This is my choice

Darker the Release is the second book in the series. I did not read the first book and felt like I missed a little of the backstory, but was still able to follow along with what was happening just fine. Kelly is in a twisted relationship with Caleb. She is investigating him to see if he was responsible for her father's murder. A lot of hidden emotions and actions happen in her quest for the truth. Quoting a good movie, "You can't handle the truth." Although that seems to be a common theme, you will have to read the book to see if that is the end result of everything that transpires between Kelly and Caleb. Steamy reading is not to be missed, very erotic and emotional. "This is my choice. This is my different choice." Enjoy! I received a copy of this book from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.
