    Great start to this series

I received a copy of the ePub in exchange for an honest review from the Goodreads group Read It & Reap. Quite simply, Darkness of Light is an original and captivating Young Adult/New Adult Paranormal Romance. Ember’s life is complicated on many levels. Although Ember is different, she is an eighteen year old who is comfortable in her own skin. She is anxious for answers—the dreams, the voices and the visions are only complicating her reality. And at school she is guilty until proven innocent. Fortunately, she has a positive support system. And who is Eli? Is he the ultimate bad boy? The sparks between Ember and Eli are explosive. But are they destined to destroy each other? Their voices are strong, distinct and revealing. The cover of the novel captures Ember’s unusual physical presence. Stacey Marie Brown has created a unique story that keeps the reader engaged from cover to cover. The cliffhanger hooks the reader as well. Looking forward to the next book in the Darkness Series.

Best YA fantasy novel in a while

When I first started reading this book I thought it would be silly and shallow the way the Twilight books were. However, I was very pleasantly surprised as the story and characters progressed. The premise is not a new one, but the execution of it is unique and refreshing. Watching Ember struggle with who and what she is feels authentic, instead of like you are forced to feel something for her and what happens to her. Can't wait to find out where this goes!

    Great book but

If you live in my "Region" don't read this book! It's a great read but you can't get the ret of the series if you live in Australia. Seriously? Then why hook us with the first book only to disappoint us when we are left hanging, wanting more?

    Snarky and dark

Wow. It's a paranormal coming of age book, with the typicaal bewildering questions that come from the transition from teen to adulthood but amped up to psych ward scariness with visions of gnomes, monsters and other mystical beings. It's a fabulous read, with WTF moments peppered with snark and sacasm that really don't help keep things going smoothly. Tall, dark, mysterious and hot teen love interest? check and check. Fab friends AND step dad? Yep! Well written? Another nod. Recomended for teens, young adults and young at hearts? You betcha!

    Darkness series 1

Slow to start and I didn't want to keep reading it, but as I progressed into it I started to understand more of the story and did not want to stop , l hope book 2 will have same effect on me.
