    Thanks for your feedback!

From beginning to end the race is on.

Dax blends two of my favorite series into one fabulously, unpredictable adventure. Mizera scores big time with a treat for her fans. Isla and Dax take the senses on a wild ride that will keep readers on the edge of their seat. Dax is more than just a handsome face. When his heart's desire and his sense of duty collide, nothing will ever be the same. From beginning to end the race is on. There's no turning back once the first page is turned.

    lights the lamp

Kat Mizera lights the lamp with DAX. In this story, hockey star Dax O’Day is ecstatic when his best friend/team mate’s twin sister, Isla Campbell, asks him to pretend to be her fake boyfriend. However, he sets out to make her his real girlfriend, which will not be easy with them living in different countries. This contemporary sports romance is suitable for adult readers. Isla is the twin sister of Ian (Las Vegas Sidewinders #14). I love that this story partially took place in Scotland. It was fun to have everyone back at the castle. I enjoyed Ian’s and Everly’s wedding. Isla and Dax are great characters. They have things in common, but they are quite different. The couple had a lot of thought-provoking and life-changing obstacles to overcome. I appreciated that this book crossover with three of Kat Mizera series: Las Vegas Sidewinders, Royal Protectors, and Alaska Blizzard (briefly). It was clever how she worked them all into the novel. DAX was skillfully written and entertaining throughout. I recommend this book to people who enjoy hockey romances and books about bodyguards. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.

    Enjoyable

Dax is at a turning point in his life. Give up the hockey career he loves or pursue his dreams to serve. What happens when a holiday to Scotland to re think his life choices leads to an even more startling life changing experience. Isla has been frustrated with her life for a while and wants things to change but she has no idea how. Needing a date to her brother’s wedding Isla asks Ian to convince Dax to be her date. What neither of them are aware is that they both have feelings for one another, however that’s all about to change, complicating both Dax and Isla’s lives even more. I really enjoyed this book. Dax and Isla’s story was an entertaining read. It was a well written, at times humorous story that left me with a smile on my face.

    Fun entertaining read

4.5 Stars for Dax ( A Royal Protectors/Sidewinders Crossover) Dax is an NHL player for the Las Vegas Sidewinders and hockey has been his life for the last ten years but now he is at a crossroads in his life. He needs to look to the future and if he peruses a career He has longed after in the FBI he will not only need American citizenship, he will also need to go back to school to get the required degree and that means giving up the game he loves.... Isla is a University Professor in Scotland but her ties to a Dax are through her twin brother Ian who is not only a teammate of Dax’s he is also his best friend. Isla has crushed on her brothers best friend for a while now and when she finds herself needing a date for her brothers wedding she asks Ian to convince Dax to do the job, what she doesn’t realise is the feelings she has for him work both ways. A summer in Scotland to work your life out doesn’t seem like a bad idea until it’s time to return to the real world, can this couple make it work with a massive pond between them as well as a few hours time difference ..... Real or fake, distance or no distance this couple certainly have many obstacles to overcome before they get their HEA, family pressure and work commitments all add to the bumps in the road . I was captivated by Dax and Isla’s story and I loved catching up with the gang from previous books but that being said I really think their story can be read and enjoyed as a stand-alone although I’m sure once you meet one of the hot hunks from the Sidewinders you will want more of their stories. Great read
