    Barry at his best

Everyone should read it. Irish and American. And those in between. Not as Irish as his other novels but tells another McNulty's heart-wrenching story.

    Days Without End

A great read. Barry shows his characteristic flair with language in speaking in the distinctive colourful voice of the young mid-19th century dancer / soldier.

Life is a battle so a good title.

Gritty and loving.one grand tale but not always easy to read.

    Days Without End

Not a bad read. Painted a realistic picture of that era, I thought, but a little formulaic, not the literary gem I was hoping for

    Wonderful Simplicity

Having been a huge fan of the writer as playwright I was thoroughly delighted by this simple story of two men against all odds carving a life out for themselves. A beautiful story for a son. Inspired.
