Another winner in Tonya's cozy series

Being maid of honor in a wedding isn’t in Sheriff Kenni Lowry’s job description. Neither is wearing a hideous green dress. But, it’s quite the big deal, being the Mayor’s wedding and all, so she will suck it up and do her part. Or maybe not. Called to the scene of a dead body, Kenni runs into her grandfather. He’s long shed his mortal coil but returns to help Kenni when its a case of murder. Which she now knows this to be. I’m enjoying seeing how Kenni grows in her role as Sheriff. It seemed to me she used to think of her job as not a permanent thing, and second guessed herself often. Now, she’s strong, confident and darn good at her job. And the relationship between Kenni and Deputy Finn is steaming right along. They’re getting very close and I enjoy their encounters throughout the book. While Finn has no idea that the ghost of Kenni’s grandpa is helping her with the case, he is suspicious when she appears to have conversations with herself and acts on clues that seem to come out of thin air. With plenty of suspects to choose from, the mystery wasn’t easy to solve. When the culprit is revealed its like that box of chocolates, you never who you’re gonna get. I sure had fun following along as Kenni, her grandpa and Finn got to work. The quirky and endearing character’s, funny encounters and situations and convoluted mystery are something I’ve come to expect and look forward to in this series and Tonya delivers again.

    COTTONWOOD CHAOS!!

Cottonwood, KY’s beloved Sheriff Kenni and her Deputy (and boyfriend) Finn are busier than ever trying to keep the peace in the weeks leading up to Polly and the Mayor’s “Gone with the Wind” themed Wedding. In sleepy little Cottonwood, what could possibly go wrong? Better question might be what could possibly go right? Kappes delights her readers with another wild tale of life in a small town. A place where everyone knows everyone else’s business. What they don’t know, they do their best to find out. When a murder occurs by most unusual circumstances, it will take all of the resources available to Kenni and Finn (and of course Poppa!) to crack this case. Cottonwood is home to characters we’ve come to love and a host off new, zany ones who you won’t soon forget! I was provided an ARC of this book by Henery Press & NetGalley. The opinions expressed here are completely my own and without influence.

    Kenni is great

I received this ARC for a honest review. HAHA! Yes this book had my laughing out loud at all the stuff going on in the beginning. Kenni has found herself in a all new predicament. You know mama is the root to all evil for her. If I didn't know better she is trying to give Kenni a ulcer. You would think that all this was over the Mayor and Polly's wedding. Nope Kenni has also added to mama's list of things to complain about. It seems that Kenni and Finn have taking there relationship to a new level. I approve. With luck not going well for Kenni people should stop getting murdered. Tomorrow is another day. Kenni has finally taking a day off. Well she had to cash in her gift certificate for her spa day at Tina's. In walk Lucy. She is a piece of work. She shows her butt when they can't make time for her because of the wedding party needing a practice run on their nails before the wedding. In cottonwood you know you make Lucy mad she will bad review you in the paper the next day. She let Tina's have it. To take the cake Kenni gets a call to say Lucy is dead. If it was just her passing then it would have been fine but Poppa shows up and now we know it was a murder. I thought this could be a easy case. We do have the wedding to think about. Not so. Kenni has a short list with Tina right at the top. Everyone seems to be mad at Kenni for some reason or other. She has to solve this case quick. Toward the end you think she has it when something comes up and she has to look at everything in a different way. I loved this book. I think Kenni has become one of my favorite to read about. It only took two days to read this book. Less then that if you count the hours and not the fact I had to sleep. I hope everyone that loves a good mystery finds these books and enjoys them as much as me.

    I loved it!

This series is always a guaranteed delight to read. The characters are entertaining along with the small town setting is a great combination. The whodunit is well written with enough twists to keep you guessing! I especially like the relationship between Kenni and her Poppa. I cannot wait to read the next in the series. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

Humor & Murder are a perfect duo!

Another great installation in the Kenni Lowry series! A well thought out plot that gave you a variety of suspects as you untwist the mystery surrounding the murder and a hefty dose of humor as Kenni navigates daily life with her mother always lurking nearby to drive her insane! I was originally given an advance copy of the book to read and review, but downloaded it incorrectly so just as I got to the part where ****Spoiler Alert**** Kenni informed her mom that she was going to Chicago for Christmas with Finn, the book disappeared and I had to wait forever for the book to publish so I could purchase it and finish reading it! It was worth the wait, but now I am once again waiting for another book to be published so I can keep enjoying the series. Great character development with plenty of humor and southern charm to keep you giggling as you follow Kenni as she unravels the mystery and discovers the culprit!
