    fun, fast read!!

Deal with the Devil is a standalone read. Luz Velez from age 13 has been through a fair amount of tragedy. Because of the tragedy she's a werewolf that cannot shift, has anxiety/panic attacks and since she can't shift her pack doesn't want anything to do with her except for the pack master, and that isn't a good thing. Jude Jacobson is a vampire and not just an ordinary vampire, when he meets Luz while trying to buy some property he's completely infatuated with her. After the meeting they have goes completely wrong, Jude invites Luz out for a drink and he's got a proposal for her. This was a fast easy read. I breezed through the book, I really enjoyed Jude's character, but Luz felt a little too meek and weak to me. I will mention for some readers there are several parts that may be disturbing. If you like hot and steamy you won't be disappointed. I would definitely be curious to see if Luz's brother Diego gets his own book, I really enjoyed his character in this book. Hope this helps!! Happy Reading!!!

    An intense paranormal romance

I loved it. I've read most of Ms. Anderson's sci-fi books and I have to say I love her paranormal as well. The topics in this book may be a trigger for some, but it is what also makes the relationship between the two main characters so intense. The story pulls you in and when you see how some of her family treat her you will also feel her pain. Some great twists in the story really help pull it together. Can't wait to read more. Highly suggest for mature readers only. I voluntarily read and reviewed a copy of the book.

    Awesome Read

Deal With the Devil. By Evangeline Anderson 2nd ed. Somehow I missed reading this great stand alone paranormal drama/romance/urban fantasy and am so glad it has been offered again (I received an ARC for an honest review). It is a story that not only encompasses romance, danger, adventure, hot sexy everything but also touches on tolerance for those that are different and/or have suffered emotional and physical trauma. First of all the heroine, Luz (an non-shifting werewolf)suffers from panic attacks so badly it has stopped her from passing the bar exam several times, I also suffer form these and understand the trauma and fear these cause, and also left many tests unable to finish, so this was quite relatable. Luz's trauma stems from some crazy customs her pack enforces that includes endangering women. Despite this trauma (which is part of the reason she can not shift), Luz has the courage to leave her selfish family and gets through college and law school.Intelligent, beautiful with an inner warmth, I admired Luz's brave determination. Unfortunately her panic attacks are affecting her work life and making it impossible for her to pass the bar exam.she hasn't even dreamed of attempting dating. Along comes a gorgeous blond sexy vampire who, to her surprise, wants Luz desperately and not just for physical reasons. There is though something different and dangerous about Jude. This hunky alpha vamp is not only highly protective but a incredible amount of patience for Luz. In this world vamps and weres not only don't get along but also avoid any relationships between themselves. There are a lot the two lovers must work through not even including the huge miscommunications between the two species and little by the way of tolerance. When Jude offers to make a bargain with Luz to help her overcome her panic disorder it's an offer she can't refuse. The romance and sexual attraction that grows between the two blossoms despite age old beliefs. Jude believes it's time to change some of these rules, clear up some of the prejudice and misconceptions between the two specie, he's not the only one who feels that way. There is still the adventure, excitement, romance, very hot sexual scenes as in many of Evangeline's writing but I found this book a bit different and refreshing than this authors other stories. An awesome amazing read I'm so glad Ms. Anderson was able to bring it back to us. There's also a great preview at the end for the next Kindred book.
