    A solid Autobiography

This book took me a long time to work my way through - it wasn't that I didn't like it. I actually have always been fascinated by Cary Grant. I read it more for his story then for Dyan's. Part of it made me sad for both of them. It is worth the time and I think a fair assessment of Dyan's opinions of her husband. I hope their daughter actually appreciates how challenging the writing of this was. I'm glad she shared her perspective and story.

    Dear Cary

As indicated, I found the book okay, but nothing special. I'm not really sure what the point of this book was supposed to be. I didn't find it empowering or uplifting, but more a steady stream of victim analysis. The author, who I have always thought of as a "B" actress, comes across as more victim than anything else. The portrait painted of Cary Grant is certainly not flattering, any more than the portrait Cannon paints of herself. I also found some of the incidents portrayed as more fiction than truth. I found some of them impossible to accept, in spite of, or perhaps because of the detail provided. All in all, it's an okay book to spend a few days reading.
