A great start to a new series

Imagine attending a crime scene where the victim has been that badly burned that on first glance it is not identifiable by their gender or age range only to then find out once examined that it is the body of a child! There could be nothing worse right? But in this case what is more difficult is that there has been no report made on a missing child so how are the police meant to find the child’s parents to give them the most devastating news that their child is dead! But how did the child die? When it is determined that it was murder Detective Chief Inspector Jude Satterthwaite and the newly recruited Detective Sergeant Ashleigh O’Halloran and the rest of the team have their work cut out for them in catching the killer before they can strike again. What follows is a story of revenge and the lengths that a person will go to when they have been made a fool of. This is the first book I have read from Jo and is the first in a new seriesI which I really enjoyed. It was well written and kept me enthralled throughout. I liked the characters and the descriptions of the scenery and look forward to this series development with I hope many more books to come. I rate this book ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

    Well worth the read

I enjoyed this well written book even though I thought the murderer was fairly obvious almost from the start. The relationships between the investigators was positive and I appreciated that: I do get tired of authors artificially creating deliberate tensions between the police thinking that this adds to the storyline - it doesn't and is irritating.

Will get the next in the series

Enjoyed the story but the main character did not seem to be someone you could like but I did keep reading. So realistic as you don't like everyone you meet.
