    Death Traps

As one who loves WWII history, I could not put this book down. I literally could feel the fear, fortitude and sheer determination in these brave young Americans.

    Facts and outstanding history.

Totally enjoyed this terrific book of facts and action. The decision makers that dictated what our troops needed should be sent to the front lines. Our troops get Blown away because some politician and desk jockey doesn't have the facts or just wants to cover his butt. Sad, very sad and nothing has changed. Look at the ongoing battle to keep and upgrade the A-10 Warthog. Ask the troops.

    Unique perspective

Good first-person accounts of what its like to keep a WW2 mechanized unit moving. I had no idea stuff broke down so much. Some repetition, which was unusual, almost cut snd paste, as if the author was lacking in material or good editing. I especially liked the accounts of the efforts to overcome unforseen obstacles with Appollo-13 like ingenuity and improvisation. Armoring the Pershings, making through the hedgerows of Normandy...priceless.

    Death Traps

What an interesting read. I've read a lot about armoured battles but I never thought about the system in place to repair and or replace damaged tanks. An eye opener indeed!
