    Book 2 - Merik and Nadua's story

The Demon Slave is Book 2 of the Shadow Quest series and unlike some serials, does not loose any of the excitement of Book 1, if anything, the growing development of the characters, enhances the story and set my poor Kindle on overdrive! At the end of Book 1 we saw Marik captured by the Cyrellian on Undewla, while searching for Anya's sister, Nadua. 'The Demon Slave' is their story and is equally as enthralling and captivating as Sebastian and Anya's - if you loved their story, you will definitely adore Marik and Nadua's! Plus there is a good helping of Sonia and Ethan's growing entanglement too (I cannot wait for their story, it will be smokin' hot!)! As with all Kiersten Fay stories, the path to our hero and heroines HEA, is littered with; betrayal, misunderstandings, good 'old-fashioned' bad-guys and girls. Don't forget to throw in a few rebels, traitors, a hostile environment, plus a scarred, 'broken' but gorgeous hero, mixed with a fiery, fierce, warrior heroine, and you have the makings of a real page turner. I cannot wait to read the next installment! Will Cade have tracked down sister number 3? what will happen next between Sonia and Ethan?......

Part 2 of an awesome series

This is the 2nd part to a series, but you could almost read this one as a standalone with a little background knowledge of the underlying main story line, as the story is surrounding 2 different characters than the main ones in the first part. This one takes us to a frozen planet in search of another of the princesses/sisters who have been separated from their people due to an invasion. We also get more introduced to another demon and his personality and background. Fey does not disappoint. Loved the main characters….there’s the usual steam she adds to her books…the story line flows along fairly smoothly….I ended up purchasing the 3rd book before I was done with this one as I knew I’d immediately want to keep going to see what happened next. This series was my first in the paranormal romance genre, and it has certainly gotten me hooked!

    Great book!

All in all, I think this is a great story, and part of an excellent series. I love the style, I love the storyline, and I really like the setting this time on a planet. I am definitely continuing this series! That being said, I did enjoy this book, though I have to say it wasn't as thrilling as the first in the series. I liked that this book was set on a planet, instead of a ship, as the first book was. Marik is a great character, but I was hoping there would be a bit more detail about his past, other than the parts shown to Nadua through her gift. Nadua was hard to like in the beginning. She wasn't able to be consistent, with either her choices or the way she acted. About halfway through, Nadua did eventually become a strong character that I enjoyed. Rex, another demon, and Ava, Queen of Undewla, are introduced to us in this book, and I now have hopes we can see a story or two of their own! Sonya and Ethan's story develops further in this book, and I like how every few chapters there was a "cutscene" where we get updated on their relationship, and the whereabouts of Anya and Sebastian.
