    Same old, same old.

Everyone is out to get Scarpetta as usual. Characters are not likable. Ending was unsatisfactory. Don't plan on wasting money on buying any more of her books. Just too repetitious.

    Cornwell losing her touch

Having read all of the Patricia Cornwell books in this series, this is by far the most boring book I have ever read. There are approximately one or two paragraphs in each chapter relevant to the storyline. After that you have several pages of Kay Scarpetta doing nothing but rambling. If the first book I had read in this series had been this boring, I would have never picked up another one of her books.

    That was it?

Too much confusing dialogue and background then nothing substantive. I'm all for open endings that make a sequel necessary, but this book ended in the middle of a sentence. Like the author threw a bunch of ideas out there then wasn't sure how to tie them together so just ended it. Very disappointing and certainly doesn't make me want to read the next one. Lame...!

    Depraved heart

Probably one and only Cornwall that I did not enjoy! The ending was the worse part. I expected "a to be continued later" note. It was complete!!!
