    Depth of Winter

The latest Sheriff Walt Longmire book by Craig Johnson is one of the best. Lots of action for Walt and the supporting characters are interesting to say the least. If you’ve read the other Longmire books this one is a must read and if you haven’t start at the beginning you’re in for a good read.

    Walt Longmire never disappoints

I have read all the Longmire books and watched all of the TV shows and I have never been let down.

    Disappointing

I have enjoyed all of his previous books. This one was very disappointing. His bleeding heart approach to mass murderers who attacked Vic and murdered Cady’s husband and kidnapped her left me shaking my head. This is not the Walt Longmire of past novels. This felt like the product of a ghost writer.

    Depth of Winter

Not a bad ending to the previous book's (Western Star) cliff hanger. It felt a little slow to start but then the venue doesn't encourage speed without your becoming dehydrated and dead. The author Q&A at the end explains much of the author's thinking and it helped me understand the concept. This wasn't the best Longmire book but I did enjoy the adventure. Looking forward to the next one.
