    Asking so much from her

I received an ARC of 'Desert Wolf' from the author, in return for an honest review. Oh WOW, that was an intense installment of the "Wolves of Willow Bend" series. I'm actually a little sad when I finsihed reading 'Desert Wolf', I could have kept on reading about Cassius & Sovvan. 'Desert Wolf' is the 8th book in Heather's "Wolves of Willow Bend" series, you don't have to read this series in order to understand what's going on, I've only read about half of the series so far but plan to get the rest read once I'm able. Cassius wants more for his pack, he wants the end of the yearly bloodbaths that have become a tradition, he wants what other packs have for his own. He asks the Alpha of Delta Cresent for the help he requires, in the form of one ofher packs Omega's. Sovvan has thought hard for the past few months about what to do with the Alpha from Sutter Butte's request, with her Hound & protector in towe she makes the journey.... 'Desert Wolf' was different in so many ways compared to the previous books I've read in the series, where before you could see the change within the couple towards one-another... between Cassius & Sovvan it took a little more time, well maybe not for Sovvan. Their interractions with one-another had more to do with understanding just why Sovvan was called in to help. Even though Sovvan is an Omega, she has sass, she arose to the challenge that Cassius asked of her. Hmmmm I can't say too much about Cassius without giving away too much, you really need to read it & have it unravell to apreciated this alpha. Heather weaved such a thrilling tale of suspense, action, passion, sassyness & love.... I found myself drawn into the story & unable to stop until I'd finished. I NEED to read the series ASAP & can't wait to read what comes next in the series...

    Love this series

Yeah, I know, who wants to start a series that keeps going and going right?, but trust me, you will not want to put these books down. Each one is better than the next. This latest release has Cassius trying to solidify his pack and have them be more like the other packs. His mate, Sovvan, is a spitfire, kick ass heroine and compliments Cassius nicely. No matter the obstacles, and there are obstacles, you keep rooting for them to persevere. I'm looking forward to the next book in this series.

    Desert Wolf

This book is the EIGHTH in the series, although I was unaware of that when I started reading it. As such, there is an awful lot of past history and backstory that I was - and remain - completely unaware of. However, that being said, you can read this by itself so long as you don't mind being in the dark when they talk about other couples, and how the different packs interact with each other. The story between Cassius and Sovvan is interesting and carries you along nicely. It is steamy in places, and rough around the edges, a bit like Cassius himself. He has plans for the Sutter Butte pack, plans that he needs Sovvan for, but making it succeed will be a difficult, and possibly deadly, game. Well written and smoothly paced, there were few editing or grammatical errors that I noticed. With the hint of mystery and pack politics to keep you intrigued, you will be swept up into the harsh terrain of pack life within the Sutter Butte. * I received this book from Barclay Publicity / NetGalley in return for a fair and honest review. * Merissa Archaeolibrarian - I Dig Good Books!

Omega brings her Alpha to his knees!

Cassius is the Alpha of Sutter Butte, is a tough nut to crack! He is equal measures mean and tough and downright kind and willing to die for his packs future. When he puts out a call to an alpha asking for her assistance and her Omega, he knows that his mean and menacing personality is enough to make her automatically say no. But if his pack is to survive he needs her help, loathe as he is to ask for it. Sovvan Stark, Omega of Delta Crescent is Cassius last hope for changing his decimated pack. It's been ruined by years of harsh treatment by previous Alphas and the dreaded Reaping! She's an integral part of his plan but the plan could just mean the death of him..or her! She can reflect a wolf's inner being and she could wreck Cassius pack. Anger, jealousy and deceit could lay waste and leave no one untainted. Fantastic story, full of twists and turns. I never quite knew if I loved Cassius or wanted to belt him one on the jaw!!! He is a deep well of tightly bound emotion, making him actually appear as unfeeling jerk at times. Desert Wolf is part of a series but can easily be read as standalone. Fantastic story and can't wait to see what happens next!
