    An Amazingly Atypical Christie

This isn't your typical Christie: no one is murdered, the setting isn't particularly in England or anywhere else, the main heroine attempts suicide before drafted into a spy plot, and it's hard to get a grip on what the crime actually IS for a while. And yet, you know what? I liked this; I liked it a lot. It's unusual, but that's what makes it fun for me; the unique and engaging main in Hilary Craven, the odd and somewhat philosophical plot, the interesting story behind Thomas Betterton, and the sweet if somewhat typical romance. Critically I know this isn't one of the better Christies, but it's still a highly enjoyable one to me, and dare I say one of my favorites nonetheless. Perhaps the excellent reading by Emilia Fox in the audiobook edition had something to do with that though :)
