    Loved!

I loved this one and I thinks it's the best of the series so far. Megan Crane has built a fantastic world deep in the Louisiana Bayou where the Devil's Keepers rule yet strong women can bring these men to their knees. This is the third book in the series but each of these can be read standalone although there is a thread of the story that goes through each book. The author does of good job of catching you up on that plot line in each book. Chaser Frey has his hands full with the MC. Something isn't right but he can't quite figure it out. Add to that a teenage daughter that is giving him fits and a teacher who is blowing up his phone wanting to talk about his daughter. Lara Ashburn knows all about bikers and the life. After all she spent the first 18 years of her life with bikers all around her. She got away from that life so being sucked back into by Chaser Frey isn't going to happen. Until it does.... I highly recommend this one.

    Steamy Ride

Motorcycle Tough guys find romance and their softer sides thanks to Megan Crane and her prose. Devil's Own is the third in the Devil's Keepers Series but could be enjoyed as a stand alone. Takes a brave soul to demand Ryan Chaser Frey the Enforcer of the Devil's Keepers to report to the teachers' office. Lara Ashburn has concerns about Chaser's daughter Kaylee and wants to share her observations. Chaser is charmed by Lara's in his face personality but sees right to the heart of her secrets. Danger still exists in the club and the loyalty question of their president Digger. " A copy was provided by Random House via NetGally with no requirements for a review. I voluntarily read and my comments here are my honest opinion.

Just didn't do it for me

This is the first time I have read this author and although I liked the story, I didn’t love it and I will explain why. I just want to say that we all read the same book differently and we all have our own interpretation. This is the third book in this series and although I got through the book just fine, there are inner workings of the club that I may have missed out on not reading the two previous books. I love a good MC novel, but this one just didn’t do it for me. There was just too much inner dialog in both POV and it just seemed too wordy, for a lack of a better word. There was a lot of sex and don’t get me wrong, I love my sexy times as much as the next person, but this just seemed a little OTT since they met at a parent teacher conference to discuss his 16-year-old daughter and after some banter, they are having sex against the chalk board. The next item is there are characters that are introduced, i.e. the sheriff that Lara has a date with just after she meets Chaser and then he’s just out of the picture. No scene to have Lara explain she can’t see him anymore. Also, a stripper laying claim to the sheriff and then not mentioned again. Just some unconnected islands for me. By all means, if you have been reading the series or what to give it a try, this is just my opinion and like I mentioned earlier, we all read the same book differently and have our own interpretation.

    MC Romance

Devil’s Own by Megan Crane The Devil’s Keepers #3 I stayed up late reading this book because the story wouldn’t let me stop to sleep. I had to find out what happened so I stayed up and found out. This morning, while walking my three miles for the day, I thought about the book and decided that this is a book about: * finding oneself (at least for Lara). * family. Sometimes family is based on blood relationships and sometimes it is based on something even deeper than being related. * determining what each individual deems right or wrong – and the decisions made were not always in keeping with the laws of the land * conflict: internal, parent-teacher, parent-child, sibling-sibling, within the MC and between two MC’s … and also romantic. * drugs and the impact they can have on a life. * decisions and their consequences. * justice – as perceived and enforced. * love: all kinds of love. I felt that Lara and Ryan were characters I could relate to in that they were honest and in keeping with the construct of the story. Lara had a lot to come to terms with in accepting things about her past, her brother, her and what she really wanted for the future. I really liked Lara. At the same time, Chaser had some growing to do, too. I don’t think that the MC lifestyle would work for me but I do like a good MC romance and this is very good. I would recommend reading the first books in the series before reading this one and will also say that there is a bit of a set-up for the next book that for some may feel like a bit of a cliff-hanger that is fine with me since I have read the previous books and plan to continue with the series. I am not sure how many books are left in the series but am looking forward to reading each and every one. Thank you to NetGalley and Random House – Loveswept for the ARC. This is my honest review. 4.5 Stars

    The Teacher and The Enforcer

Devil’s Own is the third book in The Devil’s Keepers series by Megan Crane. The Devil’s Keepers are a motorcycle club that rules the town of Lagrange in the outback country of Louisiana. Ms. Crane is an outstanding writer painting vivid pictures of the events happening on the page. She knows how to bring out the heat as well as the down and dirty sex in her outstanding writing. This is Ryan “Chaser” Frey and Lara Ashburn’s story. Chaser is an enforcer who knows something is going on with Devil Keeper’s leader, just not what or when it will hit. Lara grew up a California motorcycle club run by her cruel uncle and couldn’t wait to escape that life. These two meet in Lara’s classroom after calling Chaser, concerned about his daughter. The fact that Lara grew up in the culture of a motorcycle club makes her perfect for this father-daughter pair. This was an intense, entertaining story with well written and complex characters. Ms Crane takes the reader on a motorcycle ride deep into the bayou country where one could feel the heat and humidity that surrounded the swamps as they read this hot and sexy story. Her characters are real, do not apologize for their behavior and are led by their animal instincts. I enjoyed reading this book and definitely recommend this book to other readers, especially those looking for a hot and dirty read in the motorcycle genre. I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.
