  • Unexpected, heart touching, complex, funny

Diamonds, Pies & Dead Guys, the 5th book in Jennifer Fishetto's Gianna Mancini Mysteries series captured me from the beginning and held me through the very last line. Things are a little different for Gianna when the ghost in her life isn't asking for help which suits Gianna just fine; this ghost is her long time nemesis and one time best friend. The person who is asking for help is Gianna's other nemesis and husband of the ex-best-friend who haunted our favorite ghost whisper even before she died. Julian is having trouble dealing with several things in their romantic relationship and Kevin's all too frequent presence isn't helping the situation.

  • Another fun addition

Another interesting addition to this series, Gianna winds up having to help the ghost of her ex-best friend, who was murdered. As much as she doesn't want to be involved, sometimes Gianna just doesn't get a choice. I enjoyed this story, and like this series a lot. Gianna grows with each book, and her relationship (or non-relationship) makes some progress here. And her family is a lot of fun, too! Each of these books have ghosts for Gianna to help, a mystery to solve, and a strong family and relationship element. This one was a little emotional, too! They're all easy to read, enjoyable stories, and I look forward to the next one.

  • Fascinating, twisty mystery

In Diamonds, Pies & Dead Guys, Gianna she the ghost of her high school frenemy with whom she had words shortly before Hilary died. The police suspect Hilary's husband Kevin. Hilary says Kevin killed her, but Gianna does not believe Kevin is guilty. As always, things are not as they seem but Gianna will have to consider several scenarios before arriving a the truth. Will Gianna figure this out before someone stops her - permanently? You will have to be very clever if you hope to figure it out for yourself before the final reveal. I could not put it down.
