    a fitting end x

Independent reviewer for Archaeolibrarian, I was gifted my copy of this book. This is book 6, the final book in the series, and you really REALLY should read the other books in this series first. It will give you a greater understanding of Cole, and of Jae-Min and of what they both have gone through to get to this point. Here, we get the WHY. Why Ben shot Cole, killed Rick. Why he felt he needed to do what he did. While I was reading this one, my brain was running away with itself, as it is wont to do, and plotting out that WHY in my head. I was kinda right as to the what the reason was, but totally, so very wrong about the who the reason was. And that floored me. I love being proven wrong, especially when I so SURE, you know?? You get so much from each book. Someone gets shot, or at, in each book! There are some emotional revelations in each book. Some deep dark secrets that are unearthed in each book. Some, oh my word, so many laugh out loud moments. So many, cry out loud moments too. So much pain and anguish, not just for Cole, but for Jae-Min, for Mike (Cole's older brother) Ichi (younger brother) Bobby (best friend) and Claudia (office manager) But also so much love. Cole and Jae's love might be hard fought for, but its shines off every page. Ichi and Bobby's love might have been warned against from Cole, but that too, is pure and true. The tale Rhys Ford weaves over the six books is astounding, and brilliant. Such planning must have gone into these books, and it shows. Thank you, for giving me these people in my life. They will stay with me a long time. And I'm left...bereft. Sad. Heartbroken that this series has ended. BUT I have been given a glimmer of hope. From that very last line, THE VERY last one. I live with the hope that one, one small tiny day in the future, that Ford will write a follow up, based on that last line. Because it will be glorious if she does. 4.5 stars **same worded review will appear on Goodreads, Amazon.com, Amazon.co.uk and Barnes and Noble**

    Dirty Heart

In the final book of the series, we get closer to finding out just why Ben shot Rick and Cole right at the beginning. Of course, this being a Cole McGinnis book, there's just no simple answer. We have to have people shot, chases, action, and don't forget the llamas! There are less than six degrees of separation for our characters, and as the mystery unfolds, characters show up that were once closely linked to both Cole, Bobby and Ben. Well-written with a brilliant epilogue, this brilliantly concludes the series. And it is a series, a proper, full-on series, so you will need to read from book one for it to make any sense. If you like M/M Mystery Romance, then I can definitely recommend this. * I received this book from the author in return for a fair and honest review. * Merissa Archaeolibrarian - I Dig Good Books!
