*5 Stars for this sizzling Unexpected Romance*

I love me a good dirty Lisa Renee Jones story, but this one puts the icing on the cake! This book was hot from the start and it didn’t cool down at all. The chemistry Lisa has sparked between the two main characters, Lori and Cole, is just something that you long for in real life. She has packed so much heat and passion into their encounters, you never know from page to page what to expect. In Dirty Rich Cinderella Story, we meet two very different characters. Lori is a law student, obligated to drop out temporarily when her mother becomes ill. She is working for her friend’s column, and stumbles into a tall dark and sexy Cole when leaving her apartment one day. Cole is a stranger from out of town and she throws caution to the wind spending one night with him, that she won’t soon forget. He’s a one- night stand to her, and she flees the next morning, regretting it every passing day. Flash forward to when she now begins working for her friend Cat’s husband’s new Law Firm, and she is shocked to see the man she has thought about every night since their encounter, across the board room table from her. Cole is now her boss and the chemistry couldn’t be hotter! The element of the forbidden just illuminates their fire even more! Their office romance can’t be more than just a fling, but as both develop feelings, the lines blur at what they should do for their careers, and what they just can’t stop doing between the sheets!

Cole can be MY Prince Charming too.

Dirty Rich Cinderella Story is the second book in the ‘Dirty Rich’ series by Lisa Renee Jones. It’s a standalone but Cat and Reese from Dirty Rich One Night Stand feature in it quite a bit. It’s not necessary to have read their book first, but for some extra insight and just plain good old-fashioned reading you should. Book two is Lori and Cole’s story. We heard about both Cole and Lori in the first book, so it was interesting to seeing them come to life. Lori has had a hard few months. Her father died, leaving her and her mother with a huge debt to pay off. As if that weren’t hard enough, Lori’s mom, Evelyn, then became ill too. Lori is struggling to make ends meet, working several jobs, one of which is for Cat, when she meets Cole. They bump into one another when Lori is rushing from Cat’s apartment and sparks immediately fly. Cole offers to take Lori for a coffee but she refuses, knowing this man is too much for her. She fobs him off and leaves, regretting her decision the very next second. Later that night they met again and this time, Cole isn’t taking no for an answer and they have one hot as hell night together. But, it can only be that. One night. Lori isn’t what Cole thinks she is, or she isn’t… yet! Leaving without an explanation, Lori tells herself it for the best, and keeps telling herself that. She just can’t get Cole out of her head, try as she might. He dominates her every thought, just like he dominated her that night. But, weeks later she fears she might need him after all, and has know idea how to go about finding him. A few months later after Lori has recovered from that worry, fate plays a hand and brings them back together. Thanks to Cat, and her husband Reese, Lori has been awarded a full scholarship and the chance to return to her studies. With that, and a new job interning solely for Reese’s law firm, Lori feels like she can finally breathe. She has the ability to get her and her mom out of the dreary apartment they live in and to start afresh. Happy and feeling carefree, she begins her new job only to find out that Cole is her boss. What will she do? What can she do? Will Cole even remember her? Cole does more than remember, he’s been searching for his elusive one night stand for months. Lori left a lasting impression on him and he didn’t want to let her go. Now that she’s back in his grasp, she’s not getting away without a fight. Lori has a lot of trust issues, with men and how they perceive her, thanks to her father’s reckless lifestyle and the debts he left behind. She is wildly attracted to Cole, not just his looks, but his mind too. They both ‘get’ each other and this coupled with their undeniable and unflagging sexual chemistry makes the story pass in a blur. There’s a lot of push and pull between these two, some miscommunication and Lori pushes Cole away, a lot. She’s a strong woman, with a fiercely independent nature and doesn’t want to rely on any man. Cole, is brooding, sexy and possessive. His dominant nature and desire to protect what’s his make him a little overbearing at times, but GOD, he was still hot as Hades in and out of the bedroom. I loved every minute of this book, the story is fast-paced and will leave you breathless on more than one occasion. I whole-heartily recommend this book to new readers as well as old. A fantastic addition to the Dirty Rich series and well worth a read.

    Wonderful story

I love any kind of romance that even suggests it has a bit of a fairy tale remaking so I was super excited to read Dirty Rich Cinderella Story. It was everything I wanted and so much more! Lori’s family has had some bad times and as a result she is carrying a heavy financial burden. With her goals of finishing law school put on hold, she works several jobs just to pay off her family’s debt and keep her mother and her above water. When a run in, and then another meeting, with a handsome stranger promises one night of forgetting everything, she debates the wisdom of a one night stand. Her future reputation in law could be at stake but this man is from out of town and this is New York City. Surely they’ve used up all the odds of running in to one another again. Cole was immediately attracted by the woman that ran smack dab into him in the middle of a busy sidewalk. When he sees her again he immediately makes his move. He’s never felt this way towards anyone before and it’s imperative that he lays his claim on Lori before he loses her again. However, his plan fails spectacularly when the next morning he is alone with nothing but a note. I loved Cole so much! He was such a good guy and he knew from the beginning that Lori was meant to be in his life. I loved how he obsessed about her, and once he found her again he was determined to have her in his life in a very personal manner. He recognized her needs sometimes before she did and was quick to make sure he met them. Those needs often were of an emotional sort and left him wanting to cling to Lori tight and yet unable to do so for fear of losing her. Lori was determined to be completely independent. She had seen what relying on a man for your every need could do. Even as she yields to her desire for Cole, she refuses to accept any form of help from him. Everything revolved around her being able to stand on equal footing with him. Admittedly, she was quite a mess at times but I loved her more for all her broken ways of thinking. This was a wonderful story filled with romance amidst a woman’s stand for independence, when all along she needed to simply accept that love makes the difference between carelessly using someone and allowing them to support you in your time of need. Lori’s journey to that understanding was filled with so many incredible moments where Cole’s affections shined. This is a well-paced read with wonderful secondary characters that I really enjoyed. The heat level was high and appropriate for the story, the chemistry between these two sizzling. The ending wrapped everything up in a beautiful and heartwarming epilogue that left me grinning crazily. And you know, I do love a happy ending to all my fairy tales! I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

    Loved it

Once again, Lisa gives us a hot, sexy, quirky and sometimes funny read. One of our main characters, Lori Havens, an aspiring lawyer-to-be, the road to achieving her goal is paved with lots of adventures - hot adventures, I might say. She is one determined and talented young girl who strives to become the lawyer she always wanted to be, in order to take care of her mom. On her way to making her dream come true, a very sizzling hot guy appears and since everyone tells her to get back out there and date, she decides that a one night stand never hurt anyone. What she doesn't know, is that her one night stand is more than she'd ever thought it might be.

    I love Cole and Lori!

Cole and Lori are great! Lori is truly “Miss Independence”. She will do it in her own time and on her own. Relying on someone other than herself is a good trait but there’s more to it than that. Hers is based on the lack of trust. She WILL finish her law degree and take care of her mom and all of the debt from her father and it’s her job to do it. Cole is honest and hard working and he fights for what he believes in. And when he meets, or rather, runs into, Lori on the street, he finds himself thinking of her. A lot. And when fate brings them together again (and it is Fate!), he begins to change. He wants her more. He thinks of her all the time. He needs her. He sees more for them than today. He keeps pushing because he’s head over heels. But for every step forward he takes, she’s taking two backwards. He’s going to mess it up. But she may have already done that. Trust and acceptance. And love. I loved Cole and Lori’s story. I loved the cases they worked on and Cat’s book and the ever-true support of Reese and Cat. Lori’s biggest mistake was in thinking of herself as Cinderella instead of the strong, fierce and resilient woman she really is.
