Great start to this new series!

**Received ARC from NetGalley for a fair and honest review** Dirty-Talking Cowboy is the first book in the Kinky Spurs series and is Emma Monroe and Shep Blackshaw's story. I rate this book at 4.5 stars!! This was a fantastic start to this new series. I really enjoyed the storyline, the characters, and the secondary characters and had a hard time putting this book down. This is a fast, fun, read with just the right amount of hot/steaminess. Emma Monroe has been living her dream in New York City. She has a job she loves, is close with her family and has a great relationship, only problem he's the CEO of the company she works for and it has to remain on the down-low. When Emma comes to tell Jake about the death of her grandmother, she overhears a conversation that makes her leave New York City and head to River Rock Colorado to clear her head and figure out what to do with her grandmothers beloved rescue farm. Shep Blackshaw is successful, runs a successful wilderness survival company and exactly where he wants to be in life, then tragedy strikes and things change for him, he just won't know how much at the time (sorry not leaving any spoilers). When Shep is at Kinky Spurs he see's Emma and he wants her, but she shoots him down. Then Shep is out riding his horse and see's her being dragged by a horse and rescues her and steps in to be her knight in shining armor. The first book really does a job job of laying out the storyline for the series. I really enjoyed Emma and Shep together, loved their chemistry. If you like hot and steamy this book is for you. Shep is the strong, alpha male, but not overboard, but caring and Emma is emotional, feminine and somewhat strong. The secondary characters in the book were great and I can't wait for their stories. Hope this helps! Happy Reading!!!

    Excellent

A dirty talking alpha cowboy who likes his sexy times with a side of kink...yes please! I loved this story and these characters. Shep is dealing with the loss of his father as well as the financial troubles they find the family company is in. Emma is fresh off a humiliating break up that upended her NY life. Now she's in Colorado dealing with her grandmother's estate, running a ranch for abused animals, and bar tending at the local watering hole. What these two need is a little stress relief and what's better than a little fling for that! When the fling starts to turn into a whole lot more Emma is faced with making the biggest decision of her life. This book was fun, lighthearted and definitely hot! I'd recommend to everyone.

    5 Totally Dirty Talking Stars!!

Dirty-Talking Cowboy was my first read by Stacey Kennedy and holy hotness! Talk about one heck of a hot dirty talking modern cowboy. Emma has left the city to get away from her ex Jack to her Grams farm that she has inherited when her gram passed away. While at the farm Emma gets a part-time job working at a local bar called the Kinky Spurs. This is one heck of a bar that someone really needs to open up. There real cowboys all over the places, and Shep only has eyes for Emma. Shep isn't really looking for a relationship, he's just looking to run the family Cattle ranch after his father passed away, but when he sees Emma all of those plans are thrown out of the window. This book will have you wanting your very own sexy cowboy and I just say "Save a horse, ride a cowboy", get totally get it this once you. The character chemistry was amazing. This is one series where I actually can't wait to read about the other Blackshaw brothers. Usually I'm not a huge fan or in any rush to finish a series when I know the other books are going to be able to supporting character from the first book. However this is not the case with this series, I NEED Chase and Nash Blackshaw.

    3.5 Stars!

Emma's reputation has been tarnished with her job as an Executive Creative Director in New York City when a co-worker witness her kissing the CEO. A man who she has been secretly dating for a year. A man who didn't stick up for her when rumors abound. On top of her career crashing around her, her Grams passes away and leaves the farm in Colorado to her. Emma's not quite ready to go back and face the music with her job, she stays at the farm temporarily until she decides what to do next and taking on a part time bar-tending job at the Kinky Spurs bar. This is where Emma meets Shep. Shep is pure intense Alpha who captures her attention from the moment he walks into the bar. Still fresh with hurt from the last guy, she's determined to ignore the intense attraction between these two. Despite issues of his own, Shep won't let her ignore him. I was so excited to see that Stacey Kennedy has a new series coming out. I have pretty much loved everything of hers I've read. Dirty-Talking Cowboy is one of those books that was good but for me I had a hard time with Emma's character and I think that squelched some of my enjoyment from the story. I loved everything else about this book. It's great writing, great side characters and I loved Shep's intensity. There was absolutely no pushing away from Shep and he was so patient with Emma. He really made for a great Hero. I think the brothers stories are going to have a bit more angst due to who I think they will paired with. ARC provided by NetGalley.

    Dirty-talking Cowboy

Dirty-talking Cowboy is a hot and steamy introduction to Stacey Kennedy’s new Kinky Spurs series. Shep and Emma are two strong, captivating characters that have blazing hot chemistry that practically sizzles from every page as this couple engage in a red hot and passionate relationship. The relationship has its ups and downs with emotional woes which has Emma and Shep working hard to reach their happily ever after especially since both of them have no intentions of making their relationship a permanent one. The plot is fast paced and flows smoothly keeping reader’s attention and keeping them in suspense about how this relationship will work out while keeping the heart pumping with the very steamy passion. It starts off with a scene that had me questioning whether I wanted to continue with the book, but it all comes together and after a little twist and the problems facing Shep and his brothers adds to depth of the story and ensures that I want to get to know all of them. As usual, Stacey Kennedy does a great job of creating her worlds and bringing them to vivid life with well-developed characters that make it easy for the readers to connect with them. I enjoyed reading this sweet, heartwarming story and I can’t wait to read the next book in the series which I believe is due to be released in October.
