A fitting conclusion to one of my favourite series

Distraction is Dylan and Sarah's story and was a book that was a long time in coming, not only for us the readers, but for Ms. Edwards, who has made no secret of the fact that she suffers from depression. This was one of my most anticipated reads for 2017 and I was not disappointed. Having read Distraction in virtually one read, I can understand how much this book could and would have impacted Ms. Edwards and the writing process. This book confronts issues of depression, alcoholism, guilt and fear, that many of us have had to deal with in real life from both sides of the fence and was at times difficult for me to read. Having said that, the subject matter was handled with integrity and although at times the rawness and the grittiness of the emotion and pain had me in tears, it was extremely well written; the layers that Ms. Edwards built throughout this book, were slowly peeled away, just like an onion, allowing love to blossom for Dylan and Sarah. This book got to me and touched me deeply on so many levels; it was an emotional and riveting read, a roller-coaster of a ride. Of course being a Nicole Edwards book the chemistry between Dylan and Sarah was off the charts and it most certainly led to some steamy scenes, throw in some BDSM and I was always going to be hooked. However for me, this book primarily was a true love story, of overcoming fears, of acceptance, not only of others but of ourselves and with hard work and determination how a person can triumph. Distraction is the final book in Nicole Edwards Club Destiny series, a series that holds a special place in my heart. Conviction, book one in the series, was my introduction to Nicole Edwards and her wonderful writing. Not only did I find books and characters that I fell in love with, but I found a whole group of sisters. We may not be blood related but we are sisters, in fact several off us from across three continents all got a Celtic sisterhood tattoo and I hold Nicole Edwards responsible for this, as we all met in her original Nicole Nation group. They are my inked sisters and I will always be grateful to Nicole Edwards for bringing us together. Well done Nicole Edwards, what a fitting conclusion to one of my favourite series.

    Great Love Story

Distraction is the final book in Nicole Edwards Club Destiny series. It's bittersweet for me because the first book I ever read of hers was Conviction, book one in the series. Such a good ending to the series! This is the story of Dylan and Sarah and I admit I was worried about this book because we all know how Dylan has struggled with depression and alcoholism. I should've know better because Ms. Edwards has written another wonderful story and will take you on an emotional ride while dealing with depression, alcoholism, death, guilt, and even fear, but also forgiveness and love. This story was a long time coming and so worth the wait.

    A Must Read

DISTRACTION is the eighth and final installment of Nicole Edwards “Alluring Indulgence” series. I have been waiting for Dylan’s story since I read his sister’s Ashleigh’s story, “Seduction”, in 2012, and this book did not disappoint. It is heartwrenching and erotic. The prologue is enthralling. Distraction is a stand alone novel but as with all serial novels, it is better to read the whole series as characters from the earlier novels play important roles. Dylan is a tortured soul experiencing extensive grief over the loss of his beloved wife. Sarah is also emotionally tortured from her husband’s death but experiences not only grief but anger from his suicide. Dylan and Sarah had briefly dated in highschool before moving on to other relationships; but the attraction between these two remained. When they finally succumb to their attraction they dismiss it and call it a distraction to their grief. The chemistry between these two characters is erotic and hot but is it enough to become a guide to self healing, love and eventual relationship? Can they forgive themselves and finally love and commit to each other? Their story is an excellent conclusion to the Club Destiny series and an intriguing opening to a new series. Nicole Edward’s books tackle difficult and sensitive topics with grace, understanding, love and acceptance. The sex is erotic. As with all Nicole Edward books, “Distraction” is a must read!

Distraction by Nicole Edwards is the final book in the Club Destiny series, but don't worry, in true Nicole fashion, there's a spin off coming! Nicole Edwards and Club Destiny was my first introduction to polyamory. Once I got a taste of it and Nicole's book, I was hooked. Distraction has more emotion than some of her other stories. It's full of heart, heat, sex, family and love. I laughed, cried, got hot and bothered and didn't want it to end. We've known Dylan for a while. He suffered the loss of his wife and he never truly got over it. Sarah also suffered the loss of her husband and she's trying to put it behind her. Dylan and Sarah have known each other for years. They dated briefly in high school, but things just didn't work out. They remained friends over the years, but when one night three years ago leads to lustful, emotional sex against the wall, Sarah writes it off as just a distraction on Dylan's part and they go their separate ways. Dylan spirals out of control while Sarah changes her life drastically. Three years later, they finally come face to face. None of the heat they felt for each other has dissipated, but some of the guilt has. Dylan felt guilty for walking out on her. Sarah was the only woman to make him feel something and he should have fought harder, but he was so caught up in his own loss, he couldn’t find a way out. Sarah never really felt guilty for being with Dylan, but she was still angry with her husband for leaving her. Death of a love can truly alter your way off thinking. It's never easy to get over but Dylan and Sarah both want to move on and they want to do it together. Can they finally leave the past in the past and have a future together? Can Sarah trust Dylan after all these years? I LOVED this story! Dylan is so much more than I thought he would be. He's smart and sexy, but he's haunted. But, he's learned to control his demons and wants to be happy. And, I love that he's forty two! Yes! Sarah is sassy and funny and together they are perfect. Their chemistry is off the charts and the one night of passion they share with twin brothers has me fanning myself! Overall, it's a story of sadness that can overtake you, but you have to fight to get out. You have to want to move forward and live for yourself, your family and friends. You're never alone if you allow those around you to help alleviate the pain and the burden. It's a second chance love story with a bumpy road that eventually leads to bliss. Thank you Nicole for Club Destiny. I can't wait for what's next! A do-over. F being a damn distraction. Dylan wanted to be this woman's everything "I thought we'd start with an orgasm." "For you or me?" "For both of us." "Hmm. An equal opportunity lover. I like that about you." "I certainly aim to please."

    Perfect ending to this series

It's always bittersweet starting a story knowing it's the last in it's series. We've been waiting for Dylan's story for awhile and I'm so glad it wasn't rushed as it's the perfect ending to this series. This is an emotionally heavy book from the start, we all knew it was going to have to be with Dylan's history. He's a character I've never been that sure about, I always felt terribly sorry for him but I can honestly say I wasn't sure if I was interested in his story. I'm so glad I've taken the time to read it as it's a beautiful story. Sarah has just as much of a tragic past as Dylan, I think we needed that for him so that she could truly understand the reasons for the way he's lived his life. For me it took a little while to get into the story because of the emotional depth you go into with these two from the start. It's quite heavy going for awhile but once the two really start to interact I found that I couldn't put it down. Sarah's a really interesting character, although she's been through so much I loved that she decided enough was enough and she was going to make the changes in her life so that she could move forward without Dylan. She's really tough, full of love and compassion. I really enjoyed that she wasn't the sweet innocent wallflower that others seemed to think she was. She's up for spicing things up sexually and shaking off that good girl image. I loved her interaction with Trent, the scene came across so true to real life, it really made me chuckle. Dylan was a lot stronger than those around him gave him credit for. I can't imagine what he been going through but it seems like he had got tired of feeling so down, he'd hit rock bottom so the only way was up. I loved how protective he was of Sarah, and he seemed to be taking a much more active role within his own family. It was good to have a little glimpse at some of the old characters from the previous books, his sister irritated me a little at times but I guess when you've been on the receiving end of someone's anger for such a long time it's hard to let go and really trust them again. I loved the interaction with Nate and Jake, that's a story I'm really looking forward too. The sex was everything we come to expect from Nicole. Super hot and super sexy! The connection between these two was enthralling, I loved how passionate they are for each other. The biggest sex scene was amazing, even though those sort of scenes are the norm in most of the books in this series it was still really fresh and unique. Will definitely get u all worked up and tingly in the right places. It's a fabulous ending to the series and I'm very much looking forward to Trent's story.
