The best book in the series!

Oh my gosh! Axel just blew me away. He has been one of my favourite characters right from the beginning of this series and I’ve been really looking forward to his book. I did not expect him to be such romantic. Elizabeth didn’t stand a chance. He dove right in and made all her dreams come true. And loved her exactly as she needed to be loved to. Oh God I melted into a puddle of goo with the way he begins their first night together. Perfect guy! I wish he was real. Advanced Review Copy provided for voluntary review consideration.

"I'm lost in you; in everything you've given me"

The Men of Haven Series is one of my favorites and all of the brothers are handsome, sexy and loyal to their women. I had been patiently waiting for Axel’s book and it was all I had hoped for, and more. Axel McKee is my favorite Haven man with his deep voice and sexy accent, his chiseled body, stylish clothes and long, tousled hair. He is a man’s man who knows what he wants and goes after everything with a vengeance. He is a protector, a savior and a lover who knew the first time he saw Lizzy that she was special. Lizzy sings like a rock angel and has such a command of her audience that they hang onto every word and guitar riff until the last note is played. Lizzy is her own person and has trouble trusting people and when she met Axel, she was confused by his forwardness and his motives. Was he interested in more than just a business relationship? Lizzy was scared to get too close to Axel but as she got to know him, she saw his kinder and loving side and knew she had made the right decision. She could trust him with her music and with her heart. As I was reading “Down & Dirty”, I could feel Axel’s emotions and anger radiating from the pages and it tugged at my heart. I wanted to read faster but I couldn’t, because I needed to savor every word of their journey. I always knew that Axel would be romantic, caring and deeply devoted to his soulmate, and he certainly found his home with Lizzy. Rhenna Morgan is a very talented writer and she brought Axel to life in these pages and I know that he will be with me forever.

    I expected more

I was very anticipating the next book in this series and was not so positively surprised. I felt a little bit disappointed. The book was slow, nothing much happened the relationship with Axel and Lizzy was like Cinderella. All of a sudden the man in her life gives her everything and is not expecting anything. Luckily for Axel Lizzy has feelings for him too. Their relationship is also slow burn at start, is hot and has light elements of BDMS. I was glad to see al other members of the family and was glad to see how are they doing. I just expected some more doing, some action. I volunteered to review an ARC of this book for Netgelly

    Contemporary Romance

Down & Dirty by Rhenna Morgan Men of Haven #6 One of the true pleasures in my life is finding wonderful characters that I would love to know in real life. Each and every book in this series is such a book. Who wouldn’t like to have a “family” of men who have chosen one another to be “brothers” and live by a code of honor that puts family first...no matter what. Add to that the men are HOT and ALPHA and know what they want when they see it and you have a series I eagerly await each book that comes out to see which man will meet his mate next. AND...this time it is Axel McKee who finds Elizabeth “Lizzy” Hemmings and knows she’s the one. We meet Lizzy as she is getting to perform with her band Falcon Black and then she meets Axel when she goes out to get the band’s payment from the club owner they have just finished playing in. The guy is a bit of a scuzz-bucket with a reputation for trying to cheat performers out of money and Axel, knowing this, steps in...and it does not go over well. So, how is Axel to woo the lady if he makes a bad impression? Call in a brother? Perhaps. What I liked: * Axel – what a wonderful man he is...in all ways always! * Lizzy – a brilliant musician and so strong to be able to overcome her past! * The relationship between Axel & Lizzy – sizzling and so mature – in more ways than one * Seeing the family members and how they are changing * Meeting the band members and wondering if they might have books of their own * Well...really...just everything about the book except for… What I did not like: * Joffrey – I was supposed to hate him and I did and was thrilled to see he was dealt with in the perfect way. Thank you to NetGalley, Lady Amber Publicity, HQN-Carina and the author for this wonderful book in a superb series. This is my honest review. 5 Stars

What a way to end the series!

I loved it! This is exactly what I like to see in a hero who was a playboy until he meets his heroine. Once Axel laid eyes on Lizzy, he never looked at another woman. His devotion to her and the way he went at her speed was just AMAZING! I wouldn't change a thing! Reading about Axel in the previous books of the series, he seemed like the last guy to every settle down. I think that's what makes how he handled Lizzy so wonderful. He was protective, possessive, caring and sweet, but you sure don't mess with her cause he will turn into your worst nightmare. Lizzy is guarded. She's not had the best upbringing and the first guy she gives her trust to left scars. I worried she would be too standoffish due to her past. I worried for nothing. The author did such a good job of balancing her need to go slow and her character growth due to Axel's care. It was the right timing to be realistic. All the great side characters from previous books are back. I love when a story has a group of close friends/family that are there for the main characters. It always adds more to the story for me as a reader. Plus I love to see past main characters and their happiness continuing. I've really loved this series and I am so sad to see it ending. I want more! I truly can't wait to see what this author will bring us next.
