  • "Dragon Fever" - Book 9.5 in the Dark Kings series

I just finished reading this book April 28, 2017. This is my review. What a great novella length book! As part of the 1001 Dark Nights collection, you can read this book as a stand alone but it is much more enjoyed if you read the entire Dark Kings series. As a reader of the series, you don't want to miss reading this novella! A very exciting and important moment happens in this story. The main characters of Asher and Rachel (Rae) are very interesting and have great chemistry together. Asher is a Dragon King and he's been sent to represent Dreagan Industries at the WWC (World Whiskey Consortium). Dreagan has always been #1 in whiskey and Asher has a full schedule to follow and his assistant, Ms. Engel, has every minute booked. When he finally has a minute to himself, he meets an intriguing woman named Rae. There's an instant attraction between them but Asher isn't looking for a mate. But Rae just might be his. And she just might be more than she's letting on. She may, in fact, be working for the enemy! Rachel is a journalist and she's determined to expose that dragons are real and some of them even work for Dreagan Industries. Her source has given her information on Asher, the representative of Dreagan, telling her that he's a dragon. Why are they hiding themselves? It's the people's right to know what kinds of creatures they live with. But when she spends some time with Asher, he's not at all what she thought. He's kind and attentive. Nothing like her source, Sam, has told her he'd be. When Rachel learns the truth about what is really going on, she has to make a decision....expose dragons to the world or lose Asher forever. Such a good story line in this book. It will be interesting to see how Ms. Grant incorporates what happens in this story with the full length books overall story line because some pretty important stuff happens in this novella involving Ulrik, the enemy of the Dragon Kings. I also loved the introduction of Ms. Blossom Engel! I really hope we get to see more of her and her mysterious group. Overall, I really enjoyed this novella and I can't wait to read the next book in the series, "Firestorm"!

    Thanks for your feedback!
