    Very Exciting

Sabina is from a long line of gypsy women with the "sight". Her grandmother passed on to her a very important story about her ancestors and men that can take the form of a dragon. She now lives with just her brother who is a very special man. Dragon king Roman is determined to make sure that this his fellow Dragon king "V" will find the sword that was stolen from him many, many years ago. Without it he can literally lose his mind. Unfortunately there are magic forces working against them. This is part of a series that is better read in order because of the complicated back story, but you could read it on it's own. Our characters all have strong personalities that you will immediately fall in love with. The most unlikely one plays a very important role. There is a lot of magical danger from unknown sources and some great excitement. I loved it.

    Another Fantastic Dragon King Novel!

Dragon Kings V and Roman are on a quest to find V's stolen sword. Due to V's amnesia of the incident, they travel to V's territory hoping to find clues when they arrive. The duo meets Camlo and Sabina while on their search. V and Roman discover that the brother and sister, who are descendants of the clan V protected, have information relating to V's curse and his lost weapon. V and Camlo work together to uncover V's memories, while Roman and Sabina, the couple of the story, descend inside a mountain for V's sword. The path to retrieve the Dragon King sword was tense, and fast paced. At the climax of the story, I was bouncing in my seat. Roman's clever Dragon power lends to his artistic tendencies. Sabina's creativity, although different in expression than Roman's, gives the couple a common interest. Roman's dominance induces fantastic desire during their intimacies. The spark between the pair is potent, which is a common thing with Donna Grant novels. I make it no secret that I am a huge fan of the Dark World series. The subplots continue to grab my attention. At this point, the recurring characters are as much of a focus for me as the main couples are. Dragonfire is the first novel since Ulrik's redemption. He played a minor, but crucial, part here. I believe his presence will be game-changing, especially for Con. I see Con reaching his breaking point, and that could be a very good, or a very bad thing. Every Dark King book is a comfort, and a curse, all rolled into one. There is an overwhelming sense that resolution is just around the corner, and I am eager for the good versus evil showdown. But at the same time, I do not want them to end. Dragonfire by Donna Grant was given to me by Saint Martin's Press, through NetGalley, for my honest opinion.

    paranormal romance

The first book I read in this paranormal fantasy world was in the Reapers series and I have managed to read all of them except the second. I came into the Dark Kings series on book 10 and missed the book that preceded this one. I have to say that though it was an exciting action-packed thrilling read I did have times I got bogged down in wondering who some of the characters were from what seems to be a “world” I am not totally conversant with. That said, I wouldn’t mind one day starting at the beginning and reading through the books in order. In this book we hear of many characters in the realm(s) but the main focus is on finding dragon kind Vlad’s sword. Roman, another dragon king, is going along with him to search for the sword that has been missing for uncountable years and is so necessary to the dragons. While in Romania they come across Sabina and her brother who are much needed on their sword-quest. They travel, encounter magic, have problems to overcome and eventually manage to accomplish what they set out to do…although at the end of the book there are still many loose threads to be dealt with before the series can be completed. For some reason this book did not hold my attention like some in the past have. I am not sure why but think it has to do with not having read enough in this specific sub-series to keep all the characters from all the various groups 100% straight. Did I enjoy this book? Yes Would I like to read more in this series? Yes Thank you to NetGalley and St. Martin’s Press for the ARC – This is my honest review. 3-4 Stars

    One Step Closer

I found the heroine and her brother extremely fascinating in Dragonfire. So much so that when the author would change POV's with other Dragon Kings or Rhi, I was impatient to get back to them. Since I enjoy getting everyone's POV, that just speaks to how much I liked these two. My fascination stems from not only the gypsy background, but I also found both siblings abilities to be pretty cool, especially Camlo's. He uncovered a lot in this book that we didn't know yet. While we got a lot of answers, we also got more questions. However, I still feel like we are a step closer than we were. Rhi is concerning me and I want her to find happiness. It seems like she just keeps getting kicked down. I love her character and I really want to see her happy in the end. I'm nervous for her. I love that the Reapers are intermixing with this series and their own. You almost need to read both series as they all publish to stay up to date on everything that is going on. This isn't a hardship since I'm loving both series. ARC provided by NetGalley.

    Dragonfire

Excellent book. Powerful characters. Also final gave away Rhi dragon, as Con was the one to carry her out after her imprisonment, however it made me really up set with Con for treating Rhi the way he has.
