    Butterfly..... FREAKING LOVED THIS BOOK!!

I received an ARC of "Dragonfly" from Lana Sky, in exchange for an honest review. I can honestly say, that although I received an ARC of this, I'd promptly pre-ordered it once it was available. I was NOT not going have the official copy. HOLY COW, I just finished this seriously dark read by miss Lana Sky, WOW, I'm blown away. I'd previously read a snippet via the Malice newsletters & was intrigued then. But now, having read it to it's end..... I'm not really sure how I'm going to put into words, just how FREAKING AMAZING this book was. I just FLOVED Jackie as a character, not only is he a mystery, but that mystery unravels slowly once he learns to trust (although I'm not sure that is the right word) in Amy. Then Amy, sheltered, drowning Amy, seems to fall apart & grow into something new, something although coping with the violence around her, is still her. Damn I'm not sure if that makes sense. I loved how we start in the now & then work our way from the first meeting with Jackie, until we get to the present again. What a ride it was, filled with the secrets of both, finding out the truths, the hidden underbelly of San Fransisco soon rushes forth... dragging you in, until you can't beathe along with Amy. Until you too are caught in the web. If you FLOVE dark, gritty reads, then this is for you. I FLOVED it, I couldn't put it down, I wish it was longer.

    Irresistible

Drangofly fuses an irresistible dose of mystery and splashed episodes of violence, with hints of romance. Shamelessly, Amy and Jackie chemistry is explosive. Igniting right off, in an inicial glimpse of the present, just before Lana resets the story's timeline and takes us back to the moment where they first met. From there, fascinated, Amy blindly pushes herself more and more through the dangerous webs of Jamie's world. Summing in an unexpected abrupt ending which only thickens the question if Amy's choses truly brought her to her so wished freedom. Can't wait for more!

    Open end

For this price I didn't expect much and I was pleasantly surprised. The next positive thing was, that after reading some books from other authors, which followed a more or less predictable check-list this book didn't follow at all. Amy wants desperately independence from her caring brother and moves to her own flat. But..... her brother is a cop and his territory is Chinatown exactly where Amys new flat is. It doesn't take long and Amy is drawn in the not so pleasant side of Chinatown the organised crime. The end of the book is more or less open, but I preferred that to a forced HEA, which is ticking all checkboxes. I don't know if it is intended like that or if a second volume will follow. The story would surely have potential for a second volume.

Brilliant display of characters and storyline

This is a slightly creepy story that totally captured my heart. I love the characters and how real they are and totally loved the storyline, which scared me at times and made me love it all the time. I can't think of anything that I didn't like.

    Is it done then?

Read it without stopping, and the characters are so well-written. The pacing is snappy. Hauls you in, immerses you without drowning you in detail... but where's the rest of the story? 😭😭😭 NEED. MORE.
