    Really enjoyable!

Dream Maker is the first book by Kristen Ashley that I've read. Certainly I've heard about her previous series, but with a huge TBR list, I just haven't gotten to them. It could tell early on that if you were someone who had read a lot of her books you were going to love this due to all of the appearances by characters from past books. Evan "Evie" Gardiner makes her living by working as an exotic dancer and also fixing computers. She's a bit nerdy, sweet, a bit klutzy and loyal to a fault. She's so loyal that her brother's problems have suddenly become her own. When she's set up on a blind date by Lottie (aka Mac), she's not sure it will work out, but she's willing to try. Danny "Mag" Magnusson is one of Hawk's commando's, but while he is alpha to the core, he's also got a sweet streak and he is super protective over those he cares about. He's got demons of his own, but he works at trying to deal with them the best he can. The relationship between Mag and Evie is slow to develop and I liked that. They dealt with a lot in a very short time and they were supportive of one another and helped each other through the things that were happening. This book was filled with emotion and heartbreak, but you also had some humor and lighthearted moments as well. I enjoyed this book and will look forward to additional books in the series.

A Fun and Sexy Start to the Series!

What a fun ride! I've only read a handful of Kristen Ashley books (her most recent Rising fantasy series), so I wasn't sure what to expect with this one. It's a mash up/spin off series of her well loved Rock Chick and Dream Man series, and even though I haven't read those I still really enjoyed Mag and Evie's story. The book had plenty of action and sexy times and though it starts off with some instalust, I liked that the overall romance took a bit longer to come about. The surprising thing for me, was how funny Dream Maker was. Evie's inner monologue and all the colorful characters were hilarious and added a lot to the story. I really liked both Evan and Danny (Mag). They might have started off in a non-conventional way, but the forced proximity/opposites attract romance was wonderful. In true Kristen Ashley fashion, there are kidnappings, OTT alpha men, and strong female friendships and characters, but it was still very entertaining. There was a twist at the end that I wasn't expecting and though I found the story a bit long overall, it set the next books in the series up very well. I'm really excited for Axl and Hattie's story. Because I wasn't already familiar with the world these characters are from, the Easter eggs and character mentions throughout the book went a bit over my head. I didn't feel too lost though and got some clarification from some fellow book friends and Kristen Ashley lovers. Overall, I still really liked this one, but I think existing Kristen Ashley fans will get the most out of it versus someone just starting her books. *I voluntarily read an advance review copy of this book*

    Charged, edgy, and passionate!

Dream Maker is an entertaining, alluring tale that introduces us to Evie, a young, nerdy stripper who has a friend determined to be a matchmaker and a degenerate family whose actions have finally put her in the crosshairs of some very unsavoury people, and Danny (aka Mag) an enigmatic, commando who may be in over his head and in full protection mode from the very start when he falls for the klutzy babe he just got set up with. The writing is sultry and humorous. The characters are affectionate, stubborn, and playful. And the plot is an enticing mix of friendship, family, danger, drama, sisterhood, chaos, romance, instant attraction, smouldering tension, sizzling chemistry, and steamy romance. Overall, Dream Maker is a menacing, alluring, action-packed start to this new series by Ashley that’s got all the elements we’ve come to know and love in her contemporary romance/romantic suspense novels including a quirky heroine, a sexy alpha male, and an adventurous storyline.

    LOVED

Holy cow! This book took my right back towards the KA style that I fell in love with in the Rock Chick series. In fact, I LOVED that we got to see our favorite Rock Chicks, and Hot Bunch Dude's, show up in this book while it had its own set of characters that truly stood out on their own! I love how the heroine was trying to do good by her family, be a one-woman show, and be the responsible one. I love how both characters had a past, a hard past, and how they both try to move forward. I also love how the heroine isn't perfect, she is klutzy and a "nerd" and I love how the smart girl is shown as sexy and a treasure. The Hero is so good about not being worried about how much smarter she is and how he is always there for her. Suspense, mean girl, and characters we love, this book will make you want more! I can't wait for the next book!

    Great Adventure!

Once again another great page turner. An adventure into the underworld of Denver. Great new characters with old ones along for the ride. Thank you Kristen it was worth the wait.
