    Holy Hotness!!

Drive is the fourth book in the Fire On Ice Series and I’m hoping it’s not the last! My love of Brenda Rothert’s writing began with the first book in this series, Bound. I never thought I would fall so hard for books written about hockey players, but it happened! By the end of the third installment, Edge, I knew I needed for Sadie to find happiness. Sadie is the independent type. She depends on no one but herself. She has friends that are family to her, yet she feels that she is alone in the world. She certainly doesn’t need a man to complete her….or so she thought. I describe Niko as a sexy, dirty talking, Russian hunk of man. Lol. He has been relocated to Chicago to play alongside Ryke and Luke (If you haven’t met those two from previous installments yet, you must!). Living the life of a hockey player with a crazy schedule and frequent road trips, settling down into a relationship wouldn’t be an easy thing to do. And that’s not what he wants anyway. He gets to enjoy the pleasures of one time flings and casual sex. That’s enough….until Sadie. This book has it all. Romance, angst, sadness, hope, humor and of course a male lead character that will make your panties melt. And to top it off, a Happily Ever After ending. You couldn’t ask for more!

    Drive is a GOAL!

I latched on to Sadie as my book best friend while reading Edge, the third book in the Fire on Ice series, and was ecstatic when Brenda announced Drive would feature her story. Of course, Niko more than peaked my interest too! I am feeling guilty for admitting it outloud, but Luke has been bumped down a notch on my Sexiest Sweetest Man list by an intense, scorching hot Russian hockey player. Drive has everything that makes a book 5 stars for me. There was not one page I didn't relish. I detest weak, whiny female charcters who are doormats for men. Sadie is so far from any of those things! She's strong, but she isn't a b*tch with an ugly attitude. I simply adore her! Niko is arrogant and cocky but in ways that are endearing. He's determined, possessive and has a jealous streak but he's not a jackass trying to prove he's "the MAN". In one word, Niko is perfect. A major reason I love Brenda's books is that they are more than sizzling romance (although, OMG! I thought my screen might melt from the heat between Niko and Sadie!). Drive is as much about friendships and family bonds as it is about finding love when you least expect it. There are parts of this story that will have you in tears brought on by laughter - I will never see a pair of hot pink panties without doubling over giggling again! There are scenes that will make you ache, the characters' emotions so vividly written that you experience them yourself. I am again awed by Brenda's ability to make me feel like I am right there actively involved with her her characters. Passive reading is not possible with Drive; you will be sucked in to the lives of the characters and you will enjoy every second of the time you spend with them! I'm clinging to Brenda's tease that there will be one more book in the Fire on Ice series! No spoilers from me, but there is someone who plays a part in Drive that I NEED to see get their HEA. Luckily for you, there is time to devour the first four Fire on Ice books before number five is published!

Did anyone say Russian with a dirty mouth?

Sometimes the one thing you're running from because you're afraid it will hurt you, is the one thing you need most in life. Sadie is alone in the world. Yes, she has dear friends who she considers family, but her blood relatives closest to her passed away leaving her with a hole in her heart. In her loneliness she creates this idea that she only has herself to survive. Nikola Vereshkova or Niko comes from humble beginnings, to him family is the most important thing. When the opportunity comes to move to the big league, he needs to prove to himself that he's good enough to be there and to his family that he will do what it takes to help them the way they helped him. Their first encounter is a bit sketchy and Sadie forms the wrong opinion of Niko thanks to his own stupidity. From then on Niko is up to prove to her that he's not the person she believes him to be. Other than the fact that Niko is one hell of a hunk with a very sexy dirty mouth, he's sweet, he's loyal and when he loves he gives all of himself. Sadie breaks your heart at times, I completely understood where she was coming from and the doubts she had, but she remained strong and level headed. Their chemistry in the bedroom is no doubt hot and steamy, but their connection as friends is just incredibly beautiful. There is a very human depth and tenderness to this story and the characters. I wouldn't expected nothing less from Brenda, because that's the kind of story teller she is. She makes you feel and live the story as if it was your own. This is the fourth book in the Fire on Ice Series but each book can be read as a standalone. If you haven't read any books on this series or any books by Brenda yet, you're missing out on great stories and a lot of heart. Big 5 stars to Drive

    Nico's story. Loved it

Another great book by Brenda. I was looking forward to this book and was not disappointed. This is Nico and Sadie's story. They start out on the wrong foot only to realize that they like each other more than they are willing to admit. You'll enjoy reading how they find their way to each other. A must read if you've read the previous books in this series.
