    Duke of Im

Truth to be told, there were moments I'd wanted to close the book and never wanted to continue it, because I'd suspected that it would not improve. The storyline itself was hardly original and the characters were, in my opinion, annoying. Felicity, for all her twenty-three years, was childish and naive. I'd liked her in the prequel novella, "One Moonlit Night", but in her very own story I just could not find her likable at all. And then there is Jason, the Duke of Netherford, who was just acting like an immature schoolboy. And who just miraculously fell in love with Felicity or was it that he was in love with her all this time, but found it necessary to avoid her because of the "bro-code" between him and Felicity's brother? Even so, it doesn't seem logic to me to avoid someone you love and instead bed every woman in town. I just couldn't like Felicity and Jason. And then there were those highly irritating dialogues with so many exclamation marks! It was unbelievable, really. Do they yell at each other two hundred years ago? I'd rather think that we do talk loudly these days, but back then? I doubt so. Anyhow, it was irritating to me. I'd hoped to read a good book since Gaelen Foley was the author and I do like her Inferno Club series so much, so it was rather disappointing to read this one. I should give this book two stars, but since it's the first in the new series I round it off to three stars. I do want to give her a chance to improve.
