Best Book of 2015!! Couldn't Put it Down!

My Thoughts: Wow! I was completely blown away by this book. I love Ann Gimpel's writing, and have enjoyed reading books from her, after reading Icy Passage, but I wasn't prepared for just how great this book was going to be. Gimpel has combined a bit of history, an destroyed Earth, Celtic mythology and some brilliant paranormal aspects to create a read unlike any other I have read before. She has a way of giving you several different worlds and combing them into one, with the grace of an artist. We are in a world, where Aislinn is fighting, not only for those who have taken over earth, but also for her own life. From page one, we are thrown straight into the action, with Aislinn literally fighting just to stay alive. We learn about Earth's destruction, those who have taken over and a bit about Aislinn's family. As we rush along with Aislinn, we wondering if she will perish straightaway, when something brilliant happens. Little does Aislinn know, it is only the beginning of a new chapter of her life. One that is about to change her forever. I love the connection with mythology. I am a sucker for Celtic mythology, along with a few others, and Gimpel has really caught the essence of it, in her story. I am also fond of the connection between hunters ( a type of power that the few humans left on earth could wield) and their animal counterparts. I was even more excited to get to know a hunter, in the story, and have in-depth detail about the connection between them and their mates. It is such a beautiful bond that I found myself, more than once, wishing that I had hunter powers so that I could bond with an animal. (I wonder what my bond mate would be? ) Aislinn was a brilliant main character. She has determination, strength and when we see her open up, compassion and love. She has a depth unlike most other female main characters. I really feel that Gimpel wrote her well, giving her a such a strong personality and will to succeed. The secondary characters were also excellent, still given enough depth to really help us bond with them, in either love or hate, but not overpower our mains. Let's not forget another important character, our favourite wolf. such strength, wisdom and a flair of humour. I love the passion and love felt for the bonded hunter. The world of Earth Reclaimed is perfection. Gimpel left out nothing, really making it easy to feel a part of the world, submerging myself into the story was easy. I often found it hard to put down the book and leave the world behind, as I loved being with Aislinn in this desolate fight to regain earth. Overall, this is the best book I have read in 2015. I am utterly hooked and have already gotten several chapters into book two. I highly recommend this to any paranormal, fantasy, mythology lovers. I can promise you won't be able to stop turning the pages!

Edge of your seat, can't put it down read

I don't know where to start, but let's say it's an edge of your seat story! I was just recently introduced to Ann Gimpel, but I can't get enough. Her stories are action packed with steamy sex & a love story thrown in. We meet Aislinn when she loses her father to a Surge that brings the Dark Gods and Lemurians, aka Old Ones. For 3 years the Old Ones leave her and her mother alone. Then one day they come and take her mother and send her thru the Void since her magic has been muted by her grief for the loss of her husband. They tell Aislinn that it is time she learn her magic and fight for them. Aislinn walls herself off from everything and everyone so that she doesn't get hurt again. Knowing that she has Mage and Seeker skills, she sets off on the orders set for her by the Old Ones. She is told by Metea, her Old One keeper, that she is special and has 4 days to get to Taltos. Along the way, she meets up with Rune, a wolf, who becomes her bondmate. This gives her Hunter skills. Rune is injured within the first day of being with Aislinn and she tries Healer magic for the first time. She heals Rune, thus giving her her 4th magic. Before she can get to Taltos, she meets Fionn and his bondmate, Bella. They team up to get her to Taltos in time. Aislinn and Fionn meet up with one of the Dark Gods, D'Chel, on their way to Taltos and she bargains for their freedom. Knowing that sex with D'Chel could kill her, she summons fire to warm her & burns him when he touches her allowing her to escape. Fionn gives her his full name before she goes to Taltos with Rune so that she can call him in the case of an emergency. The Old Ones lead Aislinn to believe that they can make her an anti-sex charm to help her against the Dark Gods. In doing so, she travels astrally into another cavern where she meets up with a dragon. After escaping the Old Ones and getting back to Fionn, he tells her that he is a Celtic God and she is descended from Irish kings. Trying to save humanity and Earth, Aislinn, Fionn, and their bondmates team up with 3 other Celtic Gods and several of the remaining humans on Earth. This story ends on a cliffhanger. Action packed from the very beginning! This has a great story line. The characters are in depth and well explored. You get to know each character and their personalities throughout the story. This story makes you feel like you know each character and you feel what they feel for the Dark Gods and the Old Ones. It leaves you wanting more

    Wow awesome book

OMG WOW WHAT A WILD STORY ok not sure I would completely label this romance more on the lines of paranormal wild action with romance lol on a earth that everything we know has ended or changed. Loved ones are gone. We are under the rule of the old ones from another world and they have changed have killed most humans then trained the rest with magic. Or the other side is the dark lords they mostly just kill ya. This is the first book in a 3 book series and now I am so hook it is really great story. I can't wait to see what happens in the next book wow. So mind blowing with magic, gods, and dragon This book was given for an honest review and I can honestly say I love it. You will not be disappointed in it!

    Enjoy Aislinn's rise to hero

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. Aislinn is alone and has been for the 3 years after the apocalypse. She doesn't want to open herself up to feeling anything ever again. The Fionn and Rune come into her life and shake up everything that she spent the last couple of years hiding. Slowly, her hard bitten walls start to fall and she starts to feel everything again that she tried to keep hidden, but that isn't all. With every crack in her wall, more things come to light and she finds much more to her amazement. Full of twists and turns that you don't see coming. Enjoy Aislinn's rise to hero, it is a worthwhile journey!
