Bringing future technology to thriller writing.

Must admit I do not enjoy this style of writing that jumps from one scene to another and I find it difficult to remember too many characters. It would have been easier for me if I had read previous books in this series first. But now I am a big fan of this author because the thrills keep coming and the ending makes up for the trouble I had keeping track of the characters. Helen Hanson does it again!! Thrilling Thriller!

Only days after saving FBI agent Claudia Seagal and the greater San Francisco area from an epic disaster, Baxter Cruise is back in action with Claudia again. Following clues to a ten-year-old murder and a missing shipment of invaluable Mexican artifacts, the duo set out on a trail of espionage and double cross amid the notorious Mexican drug cartels. The missing shipment has also drawn Kurt Meyers and his associate, Stephanie Pappas, into the search on the behalf of the Mexican government. Before the conclusion, Claudia and Kurt, along with Baxter and Stephanie are united in a deadly face-off with the Los Audaces Cartel. Baxter once again has his drones working magic while the Cartel is dealing with their own internal treachery and retaliation. What else went missing with the precious artifacts? The pace increases as each interest pushes to be the first and only finder of the lost shipment. Helen Hanson is a master at weaving multiple plots and suspenseful levels of intrigue into a heart thumping novel. You will not put this thriller down until you read the last chapter. I have been fan of Helen Hanson’s since her earlier novels. She has never disappointed, and she gets better with each new book. I, for years, have been a dedicated James Patterson reader as well. Believe me, Helen Hanson is on a skill level equal to this great master. I wait impatiently for each new Hanson book. She is an awesome author! Which brings me to the required quip I must post; however, you should know I would have bought this book in a minute but was blessed to read it free. So here’s the legal verbiage: “I voluntarily reviewed this book from a copy supplied at no charge by the publisher.” Now go read Echoes From Death.

A swiftly paced and highly entertaining novel

I thoroughly enjoyed this novel by Helen Hanson. It is the third in a series featuring Baxter Cruise and FBI agent Claudia Seagal, but you can enjoy this tale without reading the previous two. Helen Hanson fills her books with well-developed, believable characters and provides additional background on each of them as the story progresses. She is a master at introducing individual plot threads and then artfully weaving them together to form the rich tapestry of a rewarding story. I highly recommend this book for anyone who enjoys mysteries, thrillers, or action adventures. If you are a geek, you will enjoy the rich use of technology described throughout the story. The story begins with a college-age Claudia Seagal enjoying a trip to Mexico with her boyfriend, Ravi, but the trip is cut short when Ravi is brutally murdered. Ten years later, Claudia is determined to discover what happened to Ravi so she returns to Mexico with Baxter Cruise. As they begin to unravel the mystery surrounding Ravi's death, they join forces with a private investigator and his assistant when it appears the case they are trying to solve might be connected. The deeper they delve into solving this mystery, the more dangerous it becomes for all of them. This one will definitely keep you turning pages until you find yourself at the exciting conclusion. Intrigue and danger

This was a well-written, fast paced book. Claudia, an FBI agent, has a sad past. Ten years ago her boyfriend was killed while they were on vacation in Mexico. Now a witness has come forward. Claudia and Baxter, her lover, travel to Mexico to search for information. Secrets and mysteries lie around every corner in this book. I really enjoyed it and look forward to reading others by this author. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy supplied at no charge by the publisher.
