Fascinating premise but confusing and frustrating

Exciting stories but was confused. Was I reading a novel? Was it short stories? It began to come together somewhat. The author should have told us who "Sam" was in the chapter about the auction. How is the reader supposed to remember a "Sam" from several chapters ago? Other instances where author should have reminded us who was who. But I loved the romantic interest between Sam and Kate. And I REALLY loved the whole idea of a followup to Fawcett's disappearance. I had read "The Lost City of Z" about Fawcett's adventure and disappearance. There was almost no description of the boat that took the new explorers to Dead Horse Camp but there was an illustration of a large boat afterwards. Didn't jive with main characters not being able to rescue victims of slavery. Story was going along great when author went off on new tangent about the boat captain finding gold. And then Arghhh!!! I have to buy another book to find out what happens? And will there be an endless number of books I have to buy to find out what happens?? Copyright 2018.

    Fun in the jungle

Like the Amazon, El Dorado is full of interesting things that are interrupted by unexpected annoyances. This is not Indiana Jones, but neither is it The Odessa File. It is something in between.
