Synopsis

Glass artist Savannah Smith expected a marriage proposal for Thanksgiving—just not from her strong, silent, super-hot neighbor. But when misplaced mail and a wayward can of paint lands them in a compromising position right as her family arrives for dinner, they assume he’s “The One” she’s been talking about.

Then his family shows up.

Fate dealt a crippling blow to paramedic Beau Montgomery’s heart, and he isn’t about to put it at risk again. Except, with his mother crying tears of joy over his surprise engagement to the sexy little blonde next door, he can’t bring himself to ruin her “Christmas miracle.”

Somewhere between the paint can to the head and the chaotic family trip to the ER, Beau manages to talk Savannah into being his fake fiancée long enough to survive the holidays.

If, of course, they don’t fall in love first…

He needs the kind of rescue only she can provide…

    Fantastic

Loved this fun, sexy, sweet read. Savannah starts a hilarious chain of events that not only gets her engaged to her sexy neighbor the first time she meets him but it also takes her on the wildest ride of her life. Beau simply wanted the neighbor to turn the noise down a notch now he has a mother that is over the moon about his impending nuptials, a fiancee he just met and an unexpected trip to the ER. You don't want to miss this one, I highly recommend it. As are all of Ms. Beck's books, this one is well written, has great characters, and will leave you smiling!

    My life line

Savannah and Beau lived in harmony next door to one another. Until Thanksgiving when an innocent, yet compromising position makes their families believe they are involved. The attraction between them is already explosive. So it is easily believed. Beau is more attracted to Savannah with the more he finds out. He is interested in her as a person, as well as a woman. She is all he never was looking for. Savannah wants to help him but is basically an honest person. She is afraid she will slip and fall on the lie. Can she warm the frozen heart of a man she wants more than physically? It's going to take more than a kiss. Such a sweet and funny story. I loved the characters. Even the secondary character of her sister was funny and enjoyable. Hopefully she gets her own story too. I thought this was a great start to the series. ***This ARC was given by Netgalley.com and its publishers for an honest review.

    Love at First Swing

Savannah is a glass artist trying to make her way and name into the world. But at the beginning of the holiday season nothing goes her way. The engagement announcement that she thought she would be making didn't go according to her plans. Instead there was another one out of a misunderstanding between their families. Now she stuck for the holidays being a fiancé. Beau is the next door neighbor who has been fantasizing about her. One mistaken delivery and a paint can to the head later he finds himself fake engaged to her. Will he be able to pull this off without both of their families finding out that it's fake? Be there might be a slight problem with Beau and Savannah's plans that they never saw coming. And will this little hiccup be their downfall or a solution for them both? I really enjoyed this book. I could hardly put it down. Beau and Savannah make a perfect couple. The flow of the story was great. And the sex scene was very hot. I can't wait to read the next book in this series. I highly recommend this book to others. I received this book for an honest review via NetGalley.

    sexy, funny and emotional romance

This is a sexy, emotional, funny story, about two neighbours who get entangled in a fake engagement when a misunderstanding makes their families (both arriving for Thanksgiving dinner) assume that they have just committed to tying the knot. While that might seem farfetched, it's cemented by the fact that they were childhood neighbours too, so the parents know each other and think it's perfectly normal for them to have fallen for each other as adults. Beau and Savannah are in a bind, not wanting to disappoint their parents who are so obviously pleased with what has happened, and the couple agree that they'll pretend it's all legit until Savannah leaves for Italy on an art scholarship in January. Except, those ties that bind get tighter as they become friends and lovers. But will they be enough to overcome the challenges of a man not willing to risk his heart and a woman with her own plans for the future? I loved this story! We learn right away that Beau has some pretty significant reasons for being single, having lost his young wife and daughter in an accident a few years earlier and cutting himself off emotionally from having another relationship. So when his mother, recently diagnosed with cancer, is overjoyed at the idea that he's found a new love, he can't stand to break her heart by telling her that the engagement to his sexy apartment neighbour is all a misunderstanding and convinces Savannah to play along. And with an obvious end date if Savannah accepts the chance to work on her glass blowing skills in Italy, she agrees. While the story has some emotional overtones ( and there were some parts, particularly near the end that brought tears to my eyes - you'll know them when you get there), it's got an overall lighthearted theme and doesn't dwell on the angst. There are lots of humorous moments, and some great scenes with Savannah and her sister, as well as Beau and his paramedic teammate Hunter. Also, I loved how strong Savannah's character is. She's been recently dumped by a man who wasn't good enough for her anyway, and is not eager to enter into a deep relationship either. So sex with Beau? Her pretend fiance? Well, why not! And indeed, we get some super sexy scenes between the two of them (the one in the glass blowing studio? Hot hot hot!). The story moves at a good pace, and we get a lovely happy ending for the couple after they work out all their kinks (no, not that kind). This story is a great example of what I expect from this author, and from the Brazen line. I can't wait to read more in this series! 5 stars.

    ....finished perfectly.

Ms. Beck is an author that I occasionally read. I requested an ARC of Emergency Engagement from NetGalley and Entangled in exchange for an honest review. After the first few pages I was not impressed. There were some funny moments but it was slow going for a while in my opinion. I am glad that I did not throw in the towel because the story found it's voice rather quickly. This story spoke to me. Losing someone you love is never easy but losing two of the most important people in your life would be a hard thing to bounce back from. So it's no surprise that Beau has turned into a cynic. So I loved it when vibrant, artistic, unorganized Savannah blew into his life. She was the shock he needed to bring him back to life and a good complement to his closed off personality. Emergency Engagement had a slow build up but finished perfectly. 3.5 Stars
