    A worthy finale

Seriously, if you're looking up the 8th book in a series, are you actually considering do stop? Well if you are, don't. Seriously. Just don't. You won't be disappointed. So have fun with an amazing 8th installment (a rather rare thing to say)

    It's been a long road

This has been a great series and what an ending to the it all. Alisa and Leonidas are really interesting characters in science fiction - most cyborg novels are a lot racier but the reasons for Leonidas' reluctance to get involved with Alisa are much deeper than you might think. The aftereffects of the war between the Empire and the Alliance make many characters wary of Alisa and Leonidas' motives and it has been worth following them through eight novels to finally see some resolution, not just in the political aspect but also in the familial one. It's worth reading the prequel as events in it are referenced every time someone wants to capture Leonidas. I love that the author has a second epilogue for this available through her website and a glimpse into the future with a new series; pity it's only available via a long South American river. I hope that the new series will become available through this platform so I can read about the next generation.

    End game

A confusing story with a race with mental powers mixed with cyborgs and normal individuals. Having a space mafia included created story gaps yet the general theme held together making it a good read.
