    Incredible Story....

There are no words to adequately describe the life of Shin Dong-hyuk. Born & raised in one of North Korea's most brutal concentration camps, Shin's tragic life story is well beyond most people's understanding or experience. Shin may have physically escaped the camp but, psychologically, he & thousands of other North Korean Survivors will battle imprisonment in their minds for the rest of their lives - we have no idea how lucky we are. While we can feel empathy & pity, we truly have NO idea what it would be like to have to live Shin's life or struggle to exist in North Korea. Shin's story & continued struggle is complex and unexplainable - you need to read this book!

    Escape from Camp 14

What a enlightening story. We have all heard about the hardships in North Korea but I am sure that most of us had no idea what is really happening.

    Eye Opening

Well written, hard to believe that people are subjected to the unjustified, inhumane cruelty of North Korean prison camps. It is incredible that Shin sustained the horrors of the camp and was driven to escape by the basic need for food. His storey, although disturbingly difficult to read at times, is an important one that sheds light on the atrocities of North Korea, and the ingenuity of a man who gambled his life to escape, survive and share his storey with the world.
