    Spoilers!!

This book tells the story of Ashlyn and Finley, two people bound by a mer 'promise' from their first kiss ( this happen mid way in the book) Ash (Ashlyn) is a human that is stuck in high school, all she wants to do is leave and go to college with her best friend Tatiana. But one problem is holding her back, she has a major crush on her best friend brother Finley, this and the fact that Tatiana parents are so strict that she might not be able to go with her. Ash is just trying to escape her world to go into the sea and practice her favourite hobby swimming. Fin (Finley) is a merman trapped in a life that he wishes to escape but he knows that if he does he will lose all memories of his family and Ash his crush since he was younger but he cannot make a move (kiss her) because they will end up promised to each other (married in mer language). All Fin wants to do is escape the worries of his mer life and be with his family and Ash but this will come with a price that he may or may not be willing to pay. I absolutely loved this book, the storyline was so captivating that I had to carry on. The fact that the author expressed each characters thoughts and feelings throughout the book made it thrilling and exciting to read. There were so many twists and turns in this book I had to read the next page to see if the dilemma was solved or not. Towards the end of the book I was expecting a blissful ending (the whole they all lived happily ever after) but there was such a surprise ending that had me begging for more. I cannot wait to read the next book to find out what happens to the newly engaged couple. This book deserves every star I gave it. Brenda Pandos is a great author and is now added to my list of favourite authors. I would recommend this book to readers that enjoy mythical/ sci-fi books or just fancy an untypical story of romance and disaster.

Great story but evolves very slowly

I liked this book it got me hooked to read the next one. I like the story line and how most things are explained but it is a little holey in some parts and takes a while to develop. As a whole I like it

Sadly this book did not make my best book I ever read list. I had to push myself to actually finish the book several times I just had no desire to read the book it was boring to me it just lacked action and frankly I just wasn't feeling the chemistry between Ashlyn and Fin it was just felt so cheesy and fake and several times I couldn't keep myself from sayin ewwwww it was just too much. If you're the cheesy romantic type then you may like it but for me this book was definitely not a page turner :-(
