Great start to a promising series!

This romantic suspense shook me out of my reading funk and finally lit a fire in my soul. The storyline was engaging and hooked me right away. The plot is character driven which is what I loved most about the book. Each player brought something to the story and had you wanting to know more about them. Sandra and Grady’s relationship was tough to experience. Just as they were about to start something great, both lives came crashing to a halt when Sandra’s past was revealed and all hell broke loose. The suspense was exciting, the romance slow-burned into an all-consuming inferno and it was a complete joy to read this book. I would have liked to have had more back story on Sandra though. I wanted to know why she ended up as a mercenary sniper and the book never really goes there. But, I also understand why the author didn’t head in that direction because it may have changed the outcome of the story. I really enjoyed the story and I’m looking forward to the next installment of the series. ***I was gifted an eBook copy from the publisher in exchange for an honest review.
