  • Page Turner!!

The battle is still raging. While on a mission Micah leads his team to the Deadlands. When he sees a woman he immediately chases her to warn her away and then the explosion happened. Phaedra dreamed she was in this desolate place and she suddenly saw a white doe and followed her hoping it will lead her to safety. She suddenly sees a man and he runs after her and then the explosion happened. Phaedra suddenly wakes and realizes it’s a dream. Destiny brought these two together but love will hold them in place while they fight against evil coming against the Order. I am loving this series and can’t wait for the next book!

  • Always a good read

I was a bit worried when I started this book that I would struggle to catch up with the story. It's been awhile since we visited this much loved world and I'm happy to say it was like I'd visited it yesterday. This story gives us another piece of the puzzle in the ongoing war the Midnight Breed are engaged in. They're under fire from multiple sides and there's a lot that needs resolving. This book has a lot going on, had a family feel for me with a lot of the wider characters showing up on the page. I really enjoy the stories when we see more of the original warriors and their mates. Lots of second generation characters too. There's some tragic moments in this one and although sad I think necessary for the balance of the story. There has to be loss of both sides to keep the story authentic. Micah and Phaedra have some barriers to overcome. Both have incredible inner strength although for very different reasons. Phaedra has led a long life and although had found her calling in life I think she was ready for some change. Micah is headstrong and determined. He's as tough as his father but is in danger of closing himself off without finding some lightness and love. They're a perfect match for each other and so they should be. Micah needs someone strong enough to stand up with him, mild and meek wouldn't work. Phaedra has a super strong backbone and a sense of right that makes her unafraid to step up and help where she is needed. I see these two being an integral part of this unfolding story.

  • everything I’ve come to expect

I admit it’s been a while since I’ve read this series and yet somehow picking up this book it was as if I never put the series down. This is the story of Micah a Breed warrior and member of the Order who is following in his father’s footsteps and Phaedra an immortal Atlantean who has devoted her life to helping others. Phaedra dreams of an attack on Breed warriors only to find out the attack really occurred and Micah blames her for his team’s demise. Forced to work together to uncover who is behind the attack, Micah is determined not to trust Phaedra but the tension growing between is bringing them closer together. This book was everything I’ve come to expect from the Midnight Breed series, the inclusion of past characters made me want to go back and reread the series all over again.

  • Faultless

Amazing as usual. The Order has felt like family all these years and I don’t know what I will do at the end, oh yes it’s enviable, start from the begging all over again. The storytelling is rich in descriptive language. You can smell the air hear a twig snap or the roar of anguish when a breed warrior loses a brother in battle. The Final episode will be bittersweet because Lara will deliver but it’s the anguish we as the readers will feel to know there is no more. Long live the Order. Long live Lucan Thorne and most definitely long live Lara Adrian and her reign as a bestseller
