    Not Your Typical Mystery

Falling Back to One left me breathless, almost exhausted, yet yearning for more. Mason has a style that captivates you at the first page and just won’t let go. Both Micki Reilly and Det. Jim Baker are flawed characters, each dealing with their own demons. Neither of them expecting to be forced to interact with the other, but then again, having a cop assigned to watch over a drugged out young girl isn’t exactly in the realm of normal. Mason’s writing is gritty, descriptive, and full of emotion. You can almost feel the animosity between these two people when the story begins. Overall, this is a wonderful read for those who can appreciate going back in time a bit (in this case to the 70s) and who like raw, yet vividly detailed characters. I will recommend Falling Back to One to my friends who I just know will enjoy it as much as I did.
