  • Thrilling, Passionate & Intensely Provocative

4 Stars | Hot Steam As a longtime fan of the amazing and immeasurably talented Lorraine Heath, it felt like Christmas and my birthday rolled into one when Falling into Bed with a Duke appeared on my e-reader. Eagerly anticipating another epic sizzling escape involving a swoon-worthy hero and a heroine to adore, I dove right in and didn’t stop—simply couldn't stop—until its marvelous and moving conclusion. Thrilling, passionate and intensely provocative, Minerva and Ashebury's stirring and sensual affair was completely unexpected and a sheer joy to read. Uncommon and uniquely alluring, Minerva Dodger is one tough cookie. Independent, forthright and self aware, she’s no shy miss. How could she be as the beloved daughter of one of the greatest scoundrels ever written, Jack Dodger? Self described as plain and mannish, Minerva is a diamond in the rough who positively sparkles in the seductive arms of luscious Ashebury. In his seasoned, skilled and perfectly naughty hands, she transforms into a sultry goddess basking in life's ultimate carnal delights. Her erotic revelations gain her confidence and even greater strength that make her irresistible to Ashebury. And, by the end, it’s not enough to admire her, want her, need her and live to worship her, he simply can’t exist without her—his glorious, frank and fierce lioness who might just might be stronger than himself. Their love is true and so white hot! Sigh…I just loved them. I treasured this wonderfully steamy romance and its mesmerizing couple and couldn’t be more excited for this tempting new series! After meeting the infamous, scandalous and ever-so-dashing Hellions of Havisham: Ashebury, Greyling, Edward and Locksley I am officially obsessed, in deep lust with that motley crew of male magnificence and can hardly wait for The Earl Takes All to release this spring! Edward and Julia’s complicated history and heated connection promises to astound! Complimentary copy provided in exchange for an honest review.

  • An enthralling historical romance.

The first book in The Hellions of Havisham series is a compelling read. Minerva, the heroine, believes that she is firmly on the shelf and has missed the opportunity to experience the joys of passion but she is an intelligent and resourceful lady who decides to take matters into her own hands with a visit to the Nightingale Club, an establishment that caters to discreet affairs, disguised as Lady V. There she meets with the Duke of Ashebury. The sensual tension that develops between the two is palpable. Has Minerva finally met someone who will want her for herself and not for her large dowry or will any relationship be just a one of experience? Ashe is a rake with demons who was traumatized by the death of his parents when he was 8 years of age. Is he capable of getting past that trauma and learning about love? Will Ashe uncover Lady V’s true identity? The author has done a wonderful job of creating and developing not just the main characters in this book but the secondary ones that will feature in future books. Although this is the first in this series, the author’s series are interconnected and Minerva is the daughter of Jack Dodger from The Scandalous Gentleman of St. James series. It is not necessary to your understanding or enjoyment of this story to read the previous series; I did not, but Lorraine Heath supplied the reader with enough of the back story to entice me to add it to my to read pile. I loved the chemistry, heat & slow developing romance in this book. The combination of the three kept me enthralled and I especially appreciated the addition of a satisfying epilogue. A recommended read for anyone who likes tension and some spice in their historical romances and who, like me, loves the Spinster trope.
