    Trust and honor

I sometimes wonder if, as a survivor of domestic abuse, I am more drawn to stories about that and the way other survivors thrive – and Phoebe certainly thrives! One morning, she opens the door to Graham, whom she hasn’t seen since high school. After a bad marriage, Graham limits his “relationships” to scenes at the BDSM club in which he’s a Dom. This book is about two incredibly strong people forging a relationship against their own histories, and it is a demonstration of trust and honor. The characters and situations are well-written, and Phoebe and Graham come alive. There is danger, but there is also a HEA. Can Graham keep Phoebe safe? Can Phoebe trust him

Phoebe is a young lady that thought she should just stay quiet and never speak of her abuse by her husband. The decision is taken away when her husband beats her with in an inch of her life. He is caught and sent to prison. Phoebe is left to deal with the emotional, physical and sexual abuse she has suffered. She decides to open a bed and breakfast and who should show up to do the restorationof the Riverland than her old crush Graham Layton. He puts all aside to try and keep her safe along with her German Shepherd Daisy that is trained in protection for Phoebe. Can they both keep Phoebe safe? I am going back to read the first book in the series but it can definitely be read as a standalone. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

    good story, opposites attract

It took me a bit to get into this story. I felt there was too much repetition in descriptions and in the use of full names with more explanations than necessary. I enjoyed Phoebe's growing into her new-found independence. She was definitely stronger than she thought she was, coming back from the abuse. Graham was protective, caring, and patient, and I loved how this made they a better couple. Once the story got going, it was an enjoyable read with lots of steamy scenes, danger, friendship, and love. I received a copy of this story through Goddess Fish Promotions, and this is my unsolicited review.

★ The knock of second chances ★

Freed at last from her abusive ex-husband, who is now serving time behind bars, Phoebe has set out to realize her dreams of turning an old plantation into a bed and breakfast. But first, complete renovations of the rundown property were required. A referral from her boss lands a familiar face on her doorstep, a face she has not seen in nearly two decades. As Graham is hired for the job, he finds that he is more than up to task for everything required, but he realizes that something has caused the dark shadows in her demeanor, and it is becoming clear that someone is targeting her in her new home as well. All of Graham’s protective instincts come to the forefront, and he is going to do everything in his power to protect this woman from his past whom he has never forgotten. This was a great read, along with slow-building steam, suspense and intriguing supportive characters.
