    Beautiful Story and Writing!

In my eyes being introduced to new and gifted writers to read is one of the greatest joys in life so I cannot express how excited I was to come across Rachel L. Demeter. The buzz around her did not do justice to the actual experience of reading one of her books. While her talent was hinted at in comparisons to other writers of note her writing genius is uniquely her own. Eloquent writing paired with detailed research, Finding Gabriel is an exceptional work! This novel was a multi sensory immersion with its word rich descriptions that transport the reader to a place that reaches within the pages of the author's book. Scarred both physically and mentally the empathy and understanding portrayed by the hero and heroine was both moving and enviable. Profoundly beautiful, Rachel L. Demeter's writing will saturate you in emotion and persist in your imagination far beyond when you have finished this extraordinary story. *I received this ARC via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.*

    True Love

This is the first book I've read by Rachel L. Demeter and I have to say that I am really impressed. I must confess that when Momentum sent me a copy of Finding Gabriel I initially picked it for review for the hot model in the cover xD Don't judge me I'm kind of a cover addict. But after reading the blurb I knew had to dive in its pages. And I am really glad I gave it a chance because its been months since I read such a good historical novel. It is accurate in its historical events and I love that it doesn't focus just on the romance story but also takes her time to, as I said before, made every little fall into place with the historical accuracy. This story is full of despair, anger and darkness. It deals with PTSD when it wasn't even diagnosed and shows us the struggle of depression but also how a moment or a someone can change everything by bringing light into the darkness. Mental illness or just a traumatic past can influence life in such a way that it's even harder than body scars itself. That's what Rachel L.Demeter tries to show in Gabriel's character who is both physically and mentally scarred after a tough life. Ariah, the female character, has also deep wounds that have marked her as a person. And miraculously both characters together with the help of young Emmaline will help each other shining light in each others darkness, turning despair into hope, anger into happiness and darkness into brightness. There are really sad parts in this book that made me shed tears uncontrollably for the injustices of life, specially at that time when women rights were practically nonexistent. There were twists and turns in the plot that got me glued to my computer screen for hours wanting to know what will happen. I would really recommend this book to all romance lovers wanting to experience a bit of a change with a rough but lovable war hero that faces his hardest battle till date trying to win his happily ever after with the woman he loves.

    Finding Gabriel

What a story! Not only does Demeter take readers completely and fully into the past she tells a hard hitting tale that takes a look at subjects that are big news and utterly prevalent in today’s society but that were apparent yet ignored at the time. The historical accuracy of the tale allowed me to immerse myself in the novel while the intimate plot kept me coming back for more. Demeter’s gritty writing brought this hard hitting story out in vivid clarity. Her descriptions allowed me to feel the darkness of the time while also allowing me to experience a short while in the lives of her characters. The characters came to life in a vivid way, the darkness surrounding them crowding in throughout. At the same time, their strength of character shone through. Seeing them rise above their situations was fantastic. That said, it never disappeared. It became part of who they were and the relationship between them. Demeter has written a hard hitting, emotionally fulfilling novel full of historical accuracy. It was a fantastic read that I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend to others. I’ll also be re-reading it time and time again. Please note that I received a complimentary copy of this work in exchange for an honest review.

    Amazing!

What a captivating story! I loved Rachel’s first novel so when she asked if I wanted to read this one, I jumped on board and I wasn’t disappointed. The story is beautiful, full of passion, amazing characters, and so addicting that I read it in one sitting. So as you send the kids off to school, you’re waiting for classes to start, or whatever do yourself a favor and buy yourself a book that you’ll love!
