Finding Home is not your typical romance novel - it's so much more! It’s a complex story that contains adventure and mystery; I thoroughly enjoyed this first novel by Kristen Casey. The characters were well-developed, realistic, and likable. I loved the dialogue between all the various characters; it was very well written and natural and it made the characters relatable. I was quickly pulled into the story and couldn’t wait to see what happened. The plot kept me on my toes and I wasn’t sure who I could trust. Though I had an idea of who was involved, I did not guess the full extent of what was entailed in the mystery because there some nice twists and turns in the plot which kept it intriguing. Not only did I enjoy the characters and the plot, but I also liked how the author broke up the book. I enjoyed the style of alternating chapters to give different points of view. Additionally, the short paragraphs were a nice length so that I could start and finish one (or more) during my lunch or while waiting to pick my kids up from an activity. Furthermore, Casey's use of journal entries gave additional insight into how the characters were feeling and it lent itself to a smooth read. I am hoping to see many more novels by this new author!

Fun Romance with a Dash of Suspense

Yes, this is my own book, so of course I am biased. But here’s a few reasons why I like it so much, and why I hope you do, as well: Morgan may not have everything going her way, or be coping with things perfectly. Who among us does that? But, despite having had a run of epic bad luck, she still manages to soldier on and keep living. She stays true to herself, she finds ways to help others, and she keeps engaging in the complex world around her, even when it might be easier to withdraw. Finally, she lets herself love again, when all indicators point to it being illogical and impractical. Owen has many of the same qualities, and for that reason, he makes a strong, steady match for Morgan. He’s willing and able to be the man she needs, and to shelter her from any storm. Owen has honesty, honor, and good looks going for him – Morgan would have to be pretty hard-hearted to be immune to his charms. They each need someone they can count on – someone they can be vulnerable with and who is in it for the long haul. And when you’re thinking about forever, it doesn’t hurt to have a healthy dose of red-hot chemistry! Does a relationship between them make sense? Not exactly – she does work for him, after all. Is it irresistible anyway? Pretty much. I love these two together, and I love what they are able to accomplish once they finally team up. I just know you will, too.
