    Loved it

Brenda Novak kicks off a new series with another fantastic read. I absolutely loved this book. Every little thing about it. Simply could not put it down. When Cora Kelly shows up at the New Horizons Boys Ranch, Elijah Turner has the feeling that there is more to why she's there than just a job. Never one to trust easily, Eli plans to keep an eye on Cora. Of course, no hardship there since she was very easy on the eyes. As time goes on the two get closer but Eli is more certain than ever Cora is up to something. Will she ever let her secrets out? Will those secrets tear Cora and Eli apart? I definitely recommend this one.

Finding Our Forever by Brenda Novak

Finding Our Forever by Brenda Novak Adoption. Are the children instinctively wired to try to find their birth mothers? While this is a beautiful and touching romance, it was also tense waiting for the unfortunate time when secrets are revealed. We don't want people to be hurt by our actions, but lies and secrets are often the catalyst for pain. Superbly written covering all the family dynamics of adoption and abuse. And romance. I'm looking forced to more of this series. Excerpt: “As promised, in a short time, he had her vehicle completely unloaded. “Thank you,” she said as he put down the last box. “See you later.” His conscience appeased, he started toward his truck. “Eli?" He stopped again. “Yes?” “I—I have a boyfriend. Sort of.” He felt his eyebrows slide up. Then he almost laughed. She was assuming he had an ulterior motive for helping her. “I’m sorry if I gave you the wrong impression,” he said. “I was only trying to make your move a little easier.” Her cheeks bloomed red. “Right. Of course you were. I’m sorry.” Cora’s face burned as she watched Eli drive off. “What’s wrong with you?” she muttered to herself. “Of course he was just trying to help. It’s not as if he asked for your number.” That blunder actually said more about her than it did him, she realized. He hadn’t been anything but circumspect. She was the one who’d had a difficult time keeping her eyes off him. She was so aware of him on a sexual level that it was hard to act as if she wasn’t, which was odd. She couldn’t remember having such a strong reaction to any other man. That was the reason she’d suddenly tried to throw up a barrier. She’d been hoping to give him a reason to look at her differently—or stay away entirely—and wound up making a fool of herself instead. “I told you I didn’t need your help,” she grumbled to him even though he was gone, and cringed at the prospect of having to face him at the staff meeting in a few hours. “You had to do that on your first day here, Cora?” she said as she started to unpack.” Excerpt From: Novak, Brenda. “Finding Our Forever.”

    Another Novak masterpiece!

Brenda Novak has gifted us with another masterpiece. I think this series is going to be just as great as her other ones. One of my favorite things about her books is that she never side-steps difficult topics and situations. She faces them head-on, and does it very well. While Cora's plan to get to know her biological mother seemed kind of deceptive, she had my full support, and it made a fantastic story. This is the kind of thing I love about Novak's writing. She sometimes blurs the lines and puts the characters in to some gray areas. Eli was a great character. He was so well-written, and so complex. Seeing how he felt about things, and why he felt that way was interesting and heartbreaking, and made me love him even more. I want to know more about Silver Springs, so I can't wait for the next book to come out. I received a complimentary copy of this book.

Time flies when you're reading a great book!!!

This Is book one in the Silver Springs series and it features Cora Kelly and Elijah Turner. This is a story that began long ago with pain and betrayal and has morphed into a story of love and healing. The relationship between Cora and Eli quickly became something I wasn't expecting. And Matt? He was just irritating! The whole situation with Aiyana was more dramatic than I thought it would be and over much too fast. Time flies by rather quickly while reading, which is what happens when you're deeply entrenched in a great story. I wish it lasted longer. I'm very excited to get to know the other characters and extremely curious to watch how the stories unfold in this new series.

    Welcome to Silver Springs

I didn't think I could fall in love with a series any more than I had Brenda Novak's Whiskey Creek series but I have! With this first installment in the series we are introduced to the town, the school and the people that live there. Cora is a wonderful character, so full of strength, love, conviction and persistence. Her search for her mother lead her to this beautiful area but that's not all she finds. The sparks between her and Elijah hit from the moment they come in contact and never fizzle out. Elijah is so strong, such a good hearted person. He has overcome a truly awful beginning to life to become the very special man that he is. Both of these characters are written so well that you instantly become attached to them, you are rooting them on, sighing in the right places too! Cora could have turned into a whiny, angsty character (and with good reason) but Brenda Novak writes her so well that she never drifts into that area. Elijah could have leaned towards the brutish, angry man but he doesn't go there either. They are both people with a lot of baggage but when they come together they find a way to share that load, not only with each other but with the people around them. They also share their love and hope with those people as well.
